The irreverence of it is (I hope) forgivabe. Doesn't quite fit in the category of "calling a spade a shovel" but the truth hidden in the misnomer caught me as funny the first time I heard it.
Hopefully its as forgivable as picturing Him in a smoky lounge, glowing, next to a drunk pianist with Brahms Stoker style vampires snapping a "doo-wap" behind him. That's probably taking Him too much at His word when He said you could find Him anywhere.

If you listen to Country Music there is a fairly popular tune right now called "A Beer with Jesus." The first time I heard it, I thought that this was simply used for shock purposes, but the more I listened to it I had to admit that the Son would have likely shared a beer with someone for good conversation, and about his drinking wine, there is no doubt. So anywhere, anytime, so long as there is a willing and needy listener. But "glowing" if that means drunken, I don't think so. No sin, you know and drunkenness makes that list a lot.

no, by glowing i meant exactly that. like in those tattoos where He is shooting a gun or some other highly unconventional thing... a visible spiritual radiance.

:)
Thanks for the kind words, so glad my tale gave a some smiles. Such a great prompt for a bit of fun, I couldn't resist a comedic exchange. I'm impressed with the range of entries here, can't wait to read more.

You're welcome Interversus.

I knew there would be a good amount of humorous tales, that's why I chose horror instead. Besides, it popped into my mind after I noticed two of my ideas were already taken. I nearly went for sci-fi with another idea too. AND, yesterday I came up with a funny idea I think people here would probably enjoy more than a freaky vampire tale.

My current entry inspired me to write another story relating to the post I submitted here, I placed it on another thread on the SFFC. It was fun making up another tale relating to my main character. :)

Quick, get it up while I've got web space!

Oof, I only hope I'll be able to log on for the voting.

threw down mine. for me, christmas + vampire = krampus all day. eat your veggies, kids.

It's only the eighth, and I've got a concept. :)

No doubt the actual story will remain hidden from me until the 22nd or 23rd. :(

Teresa, I think that your story is great! If I were you I might think about making a whole lot bigger tale of it and submit it to some Christian publishers. Christian Fantasy has a fair number of readers and lots of the stuff I've seen doesn't hold a candle to yours.

Highlander – And the prize for the most groan-worthy punch line goes to.... For a story that tells the hunting, capture and death of Santa it is a unforeseen and clever ending, one that is sure to leave the reader smirking even as he groans. But then what do these bloodsuckers expect when they go round eating such primal forces?

Thanks Perp Man - prize accepted graciously!

I'm trying to find a Christmassy version of my avatar.

Teresa, I loved your angel's reaction to killing the vampire. Too many angels in spec-fic today seem to be nothing more than demons with a holier-than-thou attitude. Yours were definitely not that.

Well, I liked my own idea (if I may say so myself), but once again, the execution is probably sub-par. As seems to be a recurring theme with my entries, I probably should have scrapped one of the sentences altogether and plumped up some of the others. Oh well

Perhaps give him a snazzy hat DEO?

I was going to get a christmas hat for my avatar too, but instead I ended up with this :(

I guess my dog was feeling festive at her Uncles house so she now has the pleasure of being my Christmas avatar.

Great entries so far. It seems like a lot of people decided to post early this month? 33 by the ninth. Seems like a lot anyways.

I am amazed at how many different ways we can incorperate Christmas and Vampires

ratsy - Perhaps we're all posting early to beat the Christmas rush?

Wonder if there'll be another record number of entries this month....?

Joined the avatar madness since i found a nice seasonal beak-warmer:D!
