Discussion thread -- 75 WORD WRITING CHALLENGE January 2013

No, the date on the poll was wrong (fixed now). Tiebreaker polls always last two days. After the first few months of muddling around and switching the dates, we moderators gathered together in secret confabulation, and after some discussion decided to keep them the same no matter how long the month is, to avoid confusion: 23rd, 28th, 30th (if necessary).

Which does not mean that we ourselves will not become confused, upon occasion.

Well, in that case, congratulations to mosaix! :)

And commiserations to The Judge. :)

Congratulations to Mosaix and The Judge, for winning the challenge and to Mosaix for winning the tie-break!!

Please could we just have a one word challenge? With no themes? Please? Pretty please?

And three votes by chance?

Well, in that case, I can relax.

Commiserations, TJ and thanks to everyone who voted for me in the polls. :)

Regarding the challenges in general, on those occasions I have won I can honestly say that opening the challenge thread on the 1st of the month I have groaned at the theme and 'Cyberpunk' was no exception. But, as many have said, the challenges are there to stretch us and maybe that's just what I need.

My comfort zone has always been science fiction but maybe I rely too much on plot in my writing and themes like Cyberpunk force me into developing other areas. Thanks Reiver33. Having said that I hope the theme for February won't cause too much groaning.

Long may the challenges continue.

Congratulations, mosaix! I thought your story was fantastic.

Commiserations, TJ. Yours was too, and I love it more each time I read it. I'm looking forward to the performance.

Well done Mosaix!! And well done TJ, great stories. Looking forward to another month already.

Congrats Mosaix! well deserved win.

The Judge:
Your honor that was a wonderful and deserving piece of witticism.
