Discussion thread -- 75 WORD WRITING CHALLENGE January 2013

Big thanks to Starbeast and Johnnyjet for the short listings.

I can't believe we've got another tie breaker. As if things weren't hard enough...

What makes it even more difficult to decide is that both entries made my short list. So, after much tearing out of hair, and vigorous pacing back and forth, I went for for Mosaix ... by a hair's breadth.

Congratulations to you both. If there could be two winners, you'd both equally deserve it.

Howdy,
Good to hear your voice too Parson, had another biopsy done last Thur (17th), things are looking good, thank you.
Warren Paul, my story was very much like yours, if I had entered it, it would almost look like a copy, but I just couldn't come up with the punch-line to finish the story.
Good job.
Cast my tie breaker vote for Mosaix, tough choice.
I hope that there are no more punks of any sort out there, anything but punks, worms, crawfish, clowns, ack!
Bob

Why do I want to sing "Jacked. Hacked. Cracked" to the tune of "Subterranean Homesick Blues". Anyway, it got my vote 2nd time round.

Big congratulations to both winners!!

Mosaix gets my tie-breaker vote!

'scuse the re-posting so soon, but my manners insist:

Thank You for the shortlisting HB - Really pleased you liked it!:)

...back to it, all! Good Luck both!

Darn it. I knew I should have offered bribes from the get-go. :p

At the risk of being thought to walk before the umpire has raised his index finger** I'll be the first to offer my congratulations to mosaix for winning with an excellent story! Next time I'll have to stop rapping and sing the blues, instead...

Thanks to all those who voted for me this time around -- I shall inscribe your names in my little red book. (Relax. That's the good one. ;))

** That's a cricketing term for all those poor things who know nothing of the game

I'll follow TJ's lead and offer my congrats as well, mosaix! Well deserved win!

Many thanks to Karn for the vote for my story in the first round of votes, and for all the mentions in this thread - very much appreciated!

Congratulations, mosaix, and commiserations, TJ!

...going back to see what havoc mosaix wreaked upon us last time...

Grats Mosaix!

TJ and Glen, I tried to put it to that tune, but I just couldnt make it work. But I'd totally be up for rapping it if there was a lazar light show strobbing out behind me. It could be a new genre, Trance-Rhymes rather than Mad-Rhymes?

Well done mosaix, a well deserved win, and a round of applause for our valiant runner up, TJ!

Well, it does look pretty conclusive, and I voted for mosaix, but the poll is still open for another 13 hours and 20 minutes at the time of posting. Just in case there are more members who wish to vote. They close at 2359 GMT on the 31st of January.

So, Your Honour, to continue your analogy, the bowler has made his delivery, but the bails haven't been taken off the wickets yet. :)
