ABC of ASOIAF

Lord Commander Jeor Mormont of the Night's Watch a.k.a. Old Bear, former Lord of Bear Island, ceded his lands and title to his son Ser Jorah went he took the black. He was killed by Ollo Lophand (?)

Kraken - Sigil of House Greyjoy, oft used as a pseudonym for Ironborn. Also a legendary sea creature. One was recently sighted off the coast of Westeros, though Cersei paid no more mind to this news than she did of three dragons in Slaver's Bay. Under the "Cersei is always wrong" principle, that means the kraken is real.

Mirri Maz Duur - Dany saved her from being raped, she repaid her with death and a cryptic prophecy

Nissa Nissa - The wife of Azor Ahai. Her husband abandoned her, for months on end, while saying he was hard at work. He finally murdered her. He later changed his story, saying that she had volunteered to assist him in his research and that her death came as a result of this research. He also said that she knew the risks involved. Futhermore, he claimed that R'hllor approved of her death as the means for him to develop a super weapon.

By the way, I love doubles.

OK, I'm going back to where we should be after the course correction :)

Rhaenys Targaryen- (only) daughter of Rhaegar and Elia. Was killed by Gregor Clegane during the taking of King's Landing as part of Robert's Rebellion

House Stark. A northern family of barbaric rebels and dishonorable malcontents. In the last three generations, the Staks have rebelled three times against their lawful kings. Three of their lords have been executed for treason.

The worst of these was Eddard, son of Rickard. He first declared himself a traitor at age nineteen when he openly revolted against the Iron Throne after his elder brother and father were executed for conspiring to murder the Crown Prince. He personally oversaw the vicious, wanton, unexpected, undeserved, and unprecedented sacking of King's Landing where King Aerys II was assassinated and Princess Elia and both of Rhaegar's children were murdered. Later, Eddard personally murdered the last three loyal kingsguard. Further proving his lack of honor, he fathered a *******. A few years later, he revealed his hypocritical nature by sacking Pyke and slaughtering the sons of noble Lord Greyjoy who had the temerity to stand up against Baratheon and Stark oppression. He even took Balon's only surviving son as his personal hostage to ensure Greyjoy obedience.

In his later years, Eddard became Hand to Robert upon the suspicious death of Jon Arryn. Eddard was the only one who clearly gained from Arryn's death, yet he set up his own private commission to investigate. He used his new power to arrest and accuse a dwarf son of Lord Lannister for the deaths of Lord Arryn and for the injuries sustained by Bran Stark in a climbing accident. When Tyrion Lannister was proven innocent and Lord Tywin protested of the rough treatment of his son, Eddard sent a group of thugs to kill the Lannister emissary... thus starting a civil war. Soon after, King Robert was gravely injured... Eddard personally ordered the Grand Maester to give Robert a lethal dose of Milk of the Poppy to ensure he never awoke. Eddard claimed that Robert had revised his will just before he died, but no one else witnessed such a conversation. Robert's youngest brother Renly, the Master of Laws, then offered to assist Eddard in the coronation of the Crown Prince Joffrey. Eddard refused. Knowing that his actions were illegal, he then wrote a secret letter inviting Robert's middle brother to sieze the throne. Eddard and Stannis were old war buddies. To further ensure the success of his conspiracy, Eddard tried to bribe Lord Baelish, Master of Coin, to put the services of the City Watch directly into his hands. Fortunately for noble Prince Joffrey, his wise mother, the Queen Regent proved Robert's will as fake while the heroic Lord Baelish declined Eddard's throffer and Eddard was arrested.

The end to the treacherous tale of Eddard Stark came upon the holy steps of the temple of Baelor the Blessed. With no way out and his treason known, Eddard did the only honorable deed of his life when he confessed to his crimes. He thought by allocuting that he'd earn himself an easy sentence of retirement to Castle Black, but righteous King Joffrey gave Eddard the justice he deserved... death at the edge of his own family sword.

Great post Boaz. It would have been great yesterday, but I loved it today as well.

I actually practiced on my previous post regarding Nissa Nissa, but that went under the radar... so I had to be a bit more obnoxious.

That. Was. Brilliant.

I'm going to leave this off the list since we already had a P for this round (Pycelle). Feel free to use it next round. :)
