Hi KMQ,

Sorry to be dense, but what is the word count guidance? Is there one? I notice on your OP that it was 1K and above but appreciate that some people may not want War and Peace (which - by the way - I don't have in me, but anyway) shall I just play it by ear?

Certainly play it by ear -- not all stories should be length X. So, minimum is 1k (so there's room for a bit of meat to it) but other than that, go for whatever you want. On the other forum where we've done this, one person ended up writing a whole novel...

But that's not expected lol. Make it the right length to tell the story.

Me too! I assume that's okay, KMQ, as it's just an exercise. But if we do submit could we have a bye on posting the whole story (don't mind the start as the voice thing.) Otherwise, I'll write another. I'd be happy to pm it at the end if that gets around the whole issue?

You people are way ahead of me. I have hand-written four pages (maybe 500 words, with all of my crossing-outs) so far. I'll try to finish up right at the end of May.
