Discussion Thread - SEVENTY-FIVE WORD WRITING CHALLENGE April 2013 -- HAREBRAIN WINS

Re: Discussion Thread - SEVENTY-FIVE WORD WRITING CHALLENGE April 2013

Thank you Ursa Major and TaticalLoco for the mentions.
Perp Man, you are very welcome, hope there will be no permanent damage.

Well, I done it, took 2 days to decide to vote for the Judge, it was too close to call again but there was no way I was going to throw a dart in the direction of a Judge, look what happened to Perp Man, I could get 30 years.

Congrats to both winners, it was a fun month.

Bob

Back after a day of work and a day of "Honey do(s)."

Dusty Zebra Thanks for the short listing! Much appreciated.

-----------

Tie breaker.... "The Judge" ..... Since I thought it was the winner from the moment I read it, this was an easy vote -- Stropes, well that's what we call them in the Psalms ......

And I think there must be something that alludes me with Harebrains' entry. Probably too subtle for a country Parson to grasp.

Re: Discussion Thread - SEVENTY-FIVE WORD WRITING CHALLENGE April 2013

A quick word about my story, it is in fact true.

Honest.

A long time ago our cat (Kitty) had a litter of kittens. Although there was one we were going to keep, in retrospect it was another that had other plans. While all the other kittens were asleep with mum it was her you would find in the dogs basket with the grumpy canine; or on the kitchen table in a nest of clean laundry.

The one we were going to keep went to a good home, the other stayed. Her name was Miss Chief, or Missy.

While she was still half grown, I was doing homework at the kitchen table one day there was a massive clatter and battering at the catflap and the half grown cat came in backwards dragging a pigeon a little bigger than her behind, which she pulled into the middle of the room and left it there.

I've no illusions she caught it herself, rather than finding it somewhere, but from the look and smug self satisfaction in her stance, it could have been an eagle.

Or maybe two.

*wail* I look ghastly in pink... *wonders whether to try tie-dyeing... or die trying...*

Many congratulations on a well-deserved win, HB...

... you heinous hare, you loathsome lagamorph, you infernal vote-stealing, too-good-story-telling, jumped-up jack-rabbit.

:p :D

Ooops, nearly forgot. TDZ, that was so clever. I thought they were in the newspaper line, as you are, but I couldn't get the rabbit and zebra bit -- I thought there was a Winnie the Pooh story or similar I didn't know!

Re: Discussion Thread - SEVENTY-FIVE WORD WRITING CHALLENGE April 2013 -- HAREBRAIN W

Thank you all, and commiserations to The Judge after a very hard fight (though she does have the satisfaction, denied me, of seeing her choice for the tie-break win).

After twenty minutes trying to figure out how to get the entire thread title in upper case (before realising that the month name has always been left in lower case) I've posted the May thread. Less ... obscure, than my usual genre choices.

Now to try to learn how to outrun the hounds in a long white dress ...

Congrats to both of you! TJ, if you ever want to trade spots I would be happy to lose in a tie breaker :)

Don't be so sure, TJ! I think you look positively delightful:
