Discussion Thread - SEVENTY-FIVE WORD WRITING CHALLENGE April 2013 -- HAREBRAIN WINS

Re: Discussion Thread - SEVENTY-FIVE WORD WRITING CHALLENGE April 2013 -- HAREBRAIN W

Congratulations HAREBRAIN,

(I thought you were mailing in this month's challenge. It looked like something I would write if I had no idea what to write about. I am absolutely convinced that there must have been something about the names or such that made it a tall tale. Obviously a lot of others got it. Well done indeed.)

The Judge, Pretty in pink as always. I loved, your poem!

Congratulations HareBrain!

Well done to both of you - that was nice and close!

So here's the one I wrote first, that I decided was more "about the tale" than an actual tale itself. I'm curious to see who (if anyone) recognizes the reference. It may be too local for even most of the US.

I hadn't come up with a title yet.

"...and there's Mama Cat's Sewing Basket."

Tiger pointed into the Utah night sky.

"Where the universe began?" The kits' eyes shone in the campfire light.

"Exactly!"

"Tell us how they spilled the basket and scattered the rhinestones as stars!"

"And the Earth is a big ball of yarn!"

"You know all those by heart." He looked across the desert at the silhouettes. "Did I ever tell you where the three little kittens lost their Mittens?"
