CHS> Feeling silly is often the case when first posting, but there was no need for you to feel silly. Your entry easily met the high standard set around here.

*muses on whether being called a last minute wonder is a compliment or not. Sharpens sword in case a certain person's smile needs to be wiped from a certain person's yellow face... :p*

Last minute it is not, since some hours yet remain of the Challenge. A wonder it is certainly not but I'm fed up trying to wrestle it into coherence. :(

Yeah, yeah, yeah. We know what this usually means -- TJ setting the next month's challenge :p

Impressive month, with the possibility of more entries to come...this is good!
A nice variety of entries with plenty of new names in the mix...this is also good!
I've been staring at the screen on my predicto-tron and frankly, it's not much help!

Posted with more than 90 minutes to go.

(You can breathe easier, Bowler. ;))

Thank you Starbeast, nice to meet you too. Cthulhu returns! I love it.

You're welcome JordanSC5. Thank you for the great complement.

perpetual man, starbeast and victoria, thanks for the comments. i stumbled across the chronicles in a search for decent agents, and couldn't resist registering and posting on the challenge...

You're welcome Mr Orange. It's always a treat to have new people join us here.

Perpetual Man, Starbeast and Victoria, thanks for your comments! Made me feel less silly. :)

You're welcome CrumpleHornedSnorkak. I've never seen a silly story yet, other than an intentional humorous tale. I can easily tell every writer here who posts, has put effort and heart into their work

I've been staring at the screen on my predicto-tron and frankly, it's not much help!

I wouldn't want to know, I enjoy the tension and surprises. Did you build that machine yourself?

The Ends of the Earth

(part nine)

HareBrain - Quite a fantasy tale you've weaved here. An ancient tribe has a Fountain of Not-Dying, but, does it really make a difference? Does it really help a chaotic world of greedy people? There is a moral to this magnificant story. Well done.

AnyaKimlin - This is very interesting, a "what if?" tale. With a different (dark humored) beginning, the world as we know it, could have a completely different outcome. Would people be better human beings? Nice work, you've got me thinking.

Culhwch - Whoa! You've got a great weird science story that is on the same level of my thinking. If I knew the how and when the Earth ends, I wouldn't say anything either, I'd just wait it out. But, I would give eveything I had to those I love.

AJB - Yes! Another cool weird science tale that delves into being able to travel to other universes that are paralleled with our own. However, the subject witnessed very different personal situations he wasn't prepared to see. Excellent drama!

Phyrebrat - A "Zombie Uprising", you've got my attention and dazzled me with a marvelous story. A man leaves everything behind, including his emotional luggage, to seek one of the last places on Earth unoccupied by the undead. A defrosted and tasty treat.

The Judge - A tremendous sci-fi/fantasy tale that would make for a great movie. Earth is attacked from malevolent insectiods from space! But, there may be Angels that can be asked to aid humankind. However, will they help? Or, is it the end? I love it.

Ursa Major - Awesome! More weird science entertainment. The narrator of this story, voyages through the multiuniverses to see his other selves. But, it causes the other versions to cease to be. This doesn't dampen the spirit of the traveler, he takes advantage of the situation and lives forever. Very cool.

Jastius - Wow! This is a fantastic action/drama science fiction horror story, that would make an incredible episode of Outer Limits. Astounding elements include: dimension traveling, vampires, romance and an amazing device called, "the Gate Key". Overwhelmingly far-out!

For me, one stood out from the very first day and although ina readthrough I also really enjoyed Stormcrow's, Venusian Broon's and Moonbat's, Victoria get my vote. Which is becoming a habit. :)

Swords don't scare me, not when I have RAY GUNS! And it would take a lot to wipe my smile, that it would. Anyway, Judge, I've voted for you in the past, so wonder does apply to you. (Just in case she has a very, very sharp sword!) :D

The title left lots of scope for some very creative ideas and I enjoyed reading this month’s entries, all very different. Lots of new members as well, which is good to see. I had made a list of mentions and then discovered that I needed to make a second list from the first, I can’t pick all of you. Anyway, as follows.

Springs, very Irish and very funny.
TDZ, quirky, and I liked it – you’re getting regular mentions from me.
Mosaix, have you got your towel?
Glen, very serious for you!
VB, another funny one.
CHS, The Wise One, a good hook on the end.
Mr Orange, a prequel to mine almost, a very good first entry.
Finally PM, I don’t normally go for poetry but I liked the flow of yours, so you get a vote.

I can see this being a close run vote this month, so many different versions of the theme, so many different ideas will spread the votes I think – I’ll see soon enough. Good luck everyone.

Top 3 for me.

Starbeast - always like a bit of Cthulhu
Moonbat - nice comic last line
Ursa Major - forget ray guns we need more mad scientists

Vote goes to RoninJedi84 - really good uncomplicated 75 tale ... thoroughly enjoyed it.
