Discussion thread -- seventy-five word challenge October 2013

Thank you Starbeast for noticing my piece, and informing me that I have gone too abstruse yet again. Still, it was fun trying.

After reading it a few more times, I think you may have gone Ursa yet again. :D

I don't think I've completely sussed out the connection between the first stanza and the rest, but the poetry is right up my alley, the puns are magnificent (the title is to die for, but I particularly like "intestate"), and I love it.

Which is a darn sight better than interesting, anyway.

You're welcome Johhnyjet. I hope you can join us in the 300. As for myself, I think I have an idea I want to go with.

You're welcome Nixie.

You are very welcome Boneman.

Ghost Stories/Pleasure
(part five)

Stormcrow - I always admired people who have a great passion for doing something in their life, be it art, music, or a project. And this excellent tale displays that drive perfectly. Good stuff.

Sinister42 - What a lovely story about a romantic couple that are very happy with each other in the afterlife. Touching how describe the two before and after. Very sweet.

Alchemist - The ghost of a hot rodder, awesome! An exceptional poem that is well written and highly entertaining. I was engrossed while reading it, and smiled at it's finish.

Parson - Ah, brother Parson, once again you've produced a spiritually superb offering. Wonderfully enriched with a real event that delights and strengthens the faith of Christians and Muslims.

Perpetual Man - Cute tale of little ghosties that play in the light of the Moon. Such a pleasent story that makes ghosts appear less frightening, and more peaceful. Nicely done.

AMB - Heh heh heh. Who hasn't enjoyed scaring someone for harmless fun. And you've captured that monstrously well. I really enjoyed this familiar tale, and felt sad for old Jeremiah. Good stuff.

Chrispenycate - Wow! You've stunned me with your fantastic rythmic story about a Shaman who was arrested for possession. Astonishingly well crafted and mixed perfectly with essential ingredients.

Culhwch - Beautiful tale that warmed my heart and made me feel comfortable inside. Tremendous story about a writer who dedicated his work to the memory of his loving father. Absolutely wonderful.

Thanks for the kind words!

Parson -- The author makes use of one of the rarest and most difficult of all literary techniques, the serious play on words, to create an insightful tale of faith.

Perpetual Man -- A sensual vision of a most unusual form of afterlife, full of innocent merriment.

AMB -- This ironic variation on the haunted house theme conveys the important message that we often do not fully understand ourselves.

chrispenycate -- A skillfully crafted poem which must be read slowly and carefully to be fully appreciated.

Culhwch -- This introspective character study conveys a gentle mood of bittersweet nostalgia.

Starbeast - thanks for your comments my friend; the inspiration for my piece certainly had passion & drive;)!

It highlighted your story well, nice work Stormcrow.

Starbeast: You've made my day. Thanks for the comment.

You are immensely welcome Parson.

Thank you Starbeast for noticing my piece, and informing me that I have gone too abstruse yet again. Still, it was fun trying.

Heh heh heh. It was anti-abstruse for me, I love the wording. Keep up the good work Chrispenycate.

SB - thanks for the kind words. Appreciated as always!

So glad you could join us in the 75 Perpetual Man. I hope you can also be in the 300 too.

Thanks for the reviews, Victoria and Starbeast!

You're mighty welcome Alchemist.

Thanks for the kind words!

You're very welcome Sinister42.

Thanks, SB and Victoria.

Now to get my brain firing for the 300.

 I think my head is swelling!!

Seriously, thanks for the wonderful comment.

Well, we're back.

In view of the long time Chrons has been offline, obviously we're going to extend the deadline for this Challenge. I'll have a word with the other mods and as soon as we have a consensus one of us will confirm details.

It's back! It's back it's back it's back! :D

Check systems -- blood pressure returning to normal, foot stopping tapping, breathing resuming. Extra bottle of tequila, back in cabinet, not needed right now.

I'm not going to talk about addictions and fixes, but that was a bit like the week I cut out coffee completely. ;)

I know, Hex -- I don't see that happening, but it's sure worth a try! :D

See, we missed three days of being able to look at the picture for inspiration. Yes, that's it.

I usually have them as my desktop picture, but I'm not moving my David Tennant muffin picture from there. Or my David Tennant Casanova screenshot from my laptop. Sorry, Cul.

300 word too? (she asked, hopefully)
I've already raised the question in the Staff Room -- where, I regret to say, there is a shocking lack of chocolate shortbread biscuits** so new supplies gratefully received -- but since there's still a week to go on that one, I don't think it's as likely.

TDZ -- stop fantasising about DT, and get writing. (And something connected with the 300 worder image, not political stories with a plum part for a certain English actor... :p)

** I'm blaming the vbulletin people.

*breathing in the chrons air...oooooohhh it's musty like a comforting book and pen ink*

wow, I didn't know just how addicted I was to this place until it wasn't there. I was like.."what will I do if it never comes back?"

<sings - but not like Joni>

"..don't it always seem to go
that you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone...."
