Sekrit Santa 33 1/3

Eugh, I too will watch as the lats couple of times life really conspired against me! And January has to have coursework done and a tonne of reading for course (including Dickens!), Feb might be better for me if it changes. I may write one and send it in if the inspiration hits me (Robots v Dragons?!) but other than that I'll sit this one out (unless it changes). I shall most definitely be finding time for the next :)

happy hobbits hobnobbing in space too intense..?

from "Blast From The Past"
Eve: [to Adam, about Troy] He's gay, by the way.
Adam: [thinking she means that Troy is happy] Well, good for you!

ADAM: Bye, Troy!
TROY: Bye, Adam!
ADAM: And thanks for always being happy!
TROY: what?
EVE: Gay.
TROY: Oh.

MOVIE TITLE Blast from the Past - 1999

(it was just a suggestion phyrebrat.. :D)

I'm in if it's not too late!

I'd like a near-future sci-fi Christmas 2073 please. (And please don't turn Christmas into a complete dystopia!)

Ok, let's revive this and see if it's a good time for anyone else yet!

I believe I counted nine so far.

Who would be in, if we did signups for the rest of January and then had the month of February for the writing? Of course, that's a short month, so we might extend it a bit. If we don't have enough interest yet, then we'll wait another month. I'm not picky. :D

Ok, just so I don't have to keep checking back through the other three pages, here's what I have so far:

hopewrites
Mith
ratsy
Perp
Victoria
DEO
jastius
monsterchic
Glisterspeck

Well, moving being over, I was intending to get into it this time, so will make a try, although I suspect I'll be useless at guessing who wrote what.

But I'll need exact instructions; I didn't follow the previous ones particularly well.

The game goes in three steps.
Step one) assignments: everyone who wants in says what they would like to have written for them. Dusty will collect these and "secret santa" style pass them back out. So we know who we are writing for, but not who is writing for us.
Step two) Writing: pretty straight forward here, you have as close to 1k words as you would like to fulfill your request. First draft quality is fine as we are only giving ourselves an approximate month to complete them. When happy (enough) with what you've written email it back to Dusty who will then pass them out to the recipients.
Step three) Guessing: once all stories are in and accounted for, smallish selections of each will be put up and everyone gets to guess who wrote what.

I like the sound of that religious unicorn, but have him teames up with a cynical gryphon or crafty fox. some sort of romp where his friend gets him into scrapes, then gets him out again last moment, and he scolds with pious love.

that or a wild west / mythical beast mashup. you know pegasus-boys rounding up the stray basaliscs and singing songs about sirines by the nightly dragonfire -- that sort of thing.

I forgot what I asked for... can we switch?

See above for what you asked for previously -- and sure, feel free to change your mind if you like!

Eek, sorry about that, chrispy -- I went back to look at the instructions I wrote at the start, and I can see why! Good thing hope is here to translate.

Actually, you might do really well at guessing! I say that because I did marvelously well last time due to building an impressive (if I do say so myself) spreadsheet for guessing purposes. :D I have to admit that it is probably a great example of what not to do, and likely voids the warranty on the whole game. It smacks faintly of cheating, in other words -- but it worked!

I'll play...:)

Gotcha DEO, but I'm not at all sure that you've managed to make a request of your own yet, so think that part over. I believe the girls were making requests for you, earlier. :)

Yeah I'd like to switch.
Draconic MC with a fiesty side. With a hint of forbidden romance, though I leave whether it ends happily for the couple or not to the author.

sounds like hoopy and no-one - (fiery dragons and suchlike), hope.

i still want a happy story.. you can put whatgoesforwhatever you want in it but no ick and no angst s'il vous plais, merci beaucoup.

I'm in still but would also like to switch as my original request was seasonal. I'd like a story about a bird that never dies.
