What are you working on right now?

Right now I'm rewriting chapter 36. Originally I thought I do some editing and a little revising, however this is not the case once I reread the first page of the chapter. It turns out I commited the 'no no' of tell and not show. So right now I have my characters interacting with one another.

The word count at this time stands at 3, 407.

I'm working on editing my second novel, due for release at the end of the month. It's a series about nineteen year olds conscripted into a galactic army. Alongside that, I'm writing the first draft of my third novel, the first in a cyberpunk series. I'm a third of the way through the first draft.

Just finished an almost-final edit of a manuscript. I started late January and with being ill and tired for the last few weeks it feels like I've been editing forever. I don't think I'll ever learn to love editing like some people do, but I think the manuscript's a lot better than it was (famous last words:eek:) and it's been a useful learning experience. Just another 2 books to edit then I can finally get back to writing!

I have renewed my interest in a science fiction novel I have always felt a need to write. Presently I have 20 pages, 5 of which are a few years old and need to be reworked to fit the changes I have made to characters and plot. I have to finish it! But I am so far away.

Just keep at it.

I started mine more twenty years. Didn't really buckle down until about three years ago. I finished the first draft of it (about 400 plus pages) two days before Thanksgiving 2016.

I'm now into editing and revising. This is where you find out that you like writing because it is a lot of work.

One tip I will give you that will make things easier for you if you haven't done it already and that is make a map. It doesn't make a difference if is a city, a country, a continent, a solar system, or even a space ship. Make a map!

Making a make will help you visualize where your plot is coming from and where it is going and the same will hold true for your characters.

I am almost at 65K in Sleepy Grove. I expect another 5-6K and then its done! DONNNNNEEE

Hey, I thought you were my spotting buddy! How can we be if you go ahead and finish way before me!?

And on that note:

Started the 1347 section of SG (A Sour Ground, not Sleepy Grove), and have written the openings for my three POVs, Osmund, Firmin and Henry.

4,790 words in. (I'm expecting this section to hit 45k but will hopefully be able to get it to 30-35k in second draft).

Brings the overall total so far to: 73,375

Well, my SG will be much shorter than your SG. I hope to get at least 1K done tonight. Have to start forcing it! Go Phyre. I can't wait to see this thing when its done

I did get an outline for the sequel to my other novel done too.

Been in too much pain the past few days to concentrate on my WIP, but much less pain today, and I slept half the day (or more) away! So I'm about to get at it again! :)

Done! I'm opening a beer.
Well done, you've earned one(y)
Editing can start tomorrow.
If you haven't got a deadline, it might be worth leaving it for a couple of weeks and then going back to it with fresh eyes. I've found it helps and I'm more likely to notice things after leaving it a while.

110956 words and the last two are THE END. Done! I'm opening a beer. Editing can start tomorrow.
Congratulations! I hope all goes well with the publishing and sells.

What format is it going to be in? Will any of it be an e-book?

My is 'kind of finished' with 47 chapters and not counting the title page 209, 243 pages. I am waiting for someone to go over it before I start serious revising. I have a good idea of some of what I have to revise, but I want to see if he agrees with me or if he sees something else entirely different.

There is one other delay: I neglected to create a foreign language for the Elves. I didn't do it sooner because I didn't want to hinder my momentum.

When I do really finish I want a glass of wine (I don't like beer).

All the drawing in the world.

I do quite like it, and I think wanted posters for the main characters in Wandering Phoenix and Roaming Tiger makes sense (probably four heroes and one adversary) for marketing, as well as perhaps having the portraits form part of the cover, but it is trickier than writing.

So, by 'all the drawing in the world' I really mean four more portraits (I've done one of the secondary characters), and probably some custom lettering, which I'm about a third of the way through. Need a bit of time to decide for certain on scheduling, as well as sorting out the usual extra stuff (front matter and tosh at the back, if any).
