What are you working on right now?

Wow you guys make me feel small. My current wip is finished at 60k. My longest story was a 100k fan fiction.

I feel like I'm out of my league here.

Don't worry about it Joe. We all have started at the same place. It all comes with time and effort. You'll get there.

If you want to get where we are watch some politicians or read some memos from bureaucrats of why they need limousines to go vacation.

Pulling the sequel to my third novel out of the draw at last. I started it not long after finishing the third novel, which remains one of my most popular works, but put it down after a few chapters. Seven more books on I still haven't written it. Now is the time - as I need to give the readers who keep asking for it what they want.

My third complete manuscript in the Thumar series is 251,105 words, before I add the glossary. Will probably split it after editing.

On that note, I am writing the glossary for the second in the series, "Thumar, Time Paradox." It should be published and released around July 2018. I've already found a publishing partner and the wheels are in motion.

Aside from that, I'm writing short stories and the fourth Thumar sequel.

Have a happy and prosperous new year, ya'all!!!!!:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::D:D:D(y)(y)

Joe, they're both within the normal range for novels so I wouldn't worry about it.

Anyway, today my to-do list includes writing new material for an alternative and perhaps better ending-quarter for Crown of Blood (last part of The Bloody Crown Trilogy), starting the drawing for episode 7 of Tales of Knights and Nitwits, and perhaps small redrafting of a short.

My one completed piece finished at around the 90k mark. Remember every story has its own natural length. Just look at the differences between The Hobbit and individual Lord of the Rings books.

Bill, the Galactic Hero by Harry Harrison is one of my fave books and that's only around 64k.

As my wife keeps telling everyone, size isn't everything :)

Don't worry about it. Longest thing I've ever written was 84k. My last published novel was 50k.

Been gone a long time, mostly because I got a new laptop computer and didn't bring website link over, trying to write at least something for the sequel to my one finished book (The Hammer of God) still no publisher, to be fair, I haven't been looking for a publisher for it yet, wanting sequel almost ready when I do, as Hammer is very much an introductory novel, but what i'm doing with the sequel (The Skylanders of Dravisii) I am happier with, having near half the wordcount of Hammer and yet to get to the main section yet.

I have written three Arthurian short stories in range of 10,000+ words I am looking for a publisher for.

Writing A Child of Great Promise, An Alearth Tale. The first draft stands at about 77k, with a few chapters hardly more than notes, so I'm still on track for coming in around 85k for the finished work.

If I hit that it will be a major triumph. It means I will have correctly estimated both the word count and how long it would take me to be done. That would bode well for future projects.

Speaking of which, I've begun research and note-jotting for the next project, Into the Second World. Also set in Altearth, of course.

Still mired in editing Kiss This World Goodbye.

Sloooooooowly editing Dominguez's Hammer. It's hard when you can only take 1,500 words to your writer's group once a week, but their help has been invaluable.

The new project is about a supernatural river that a tribe has found beneath a dry riverbed. It leads to another world. Or the future. You'll just have to read it to find out, now won't you. 23k into it. Hope to press it to book length, but not sure the story has that many legs.

Writing new stuff (different ending bit) for Crown of Blood. Think I prefer the change but it's been a long while since I wrote serious fantasy so it's a bit tricky getting back into the swing of things. Mind you, comedy's always harder, even with a smaller interval, so can't complain. And slow progress is much better than no progress.

Well, I thought I'd got this chapter well and truly planned out, except a character had different ideas - causing another character to pop up out of the blue. I have to see where this takes me. I love it when characters do this.

I'm not working on anything. I have itchy typing fingers and not-writing is making me angsty.

Getting well into a chapter on my Skylanders of Draviis WIP then i somehow erased/deleted a large paragraph and trying to work out how to do it again...
