Mosaix asked me to tell you all that he is away without internet  for a few days, and he will post his thanks and such when he returns.

(New theme has been delivered to the powers that be, so never fear!)

Congratulations Mosaix!

I am so stoked over the response to my story this month. A host of mentions! Thank you all, so much!

And two votes, even. Thanks you very much, Khayos, and Hex (and the lucky coin.)

I'm so honored to be noticed among the amazing pool of talent here.

***

My long list was ridiculously long.

A shorter list:

I loved Crystal Haven's notion of Taming H C Andersens hideous Red Shoes. Nicely told.

Icarus getting too playful also struck a chord, Jastius.

Sleepy Doormouse made me laugh at the notion that a free spirited woodland sprite wouldn't just pee outdoors.

I Almost voted for Remedy's Randy "Hornpipe." (so to speak) It put a big fat grin on my face from beginning to end.

But Culhwch' poignant rite of passage took my vote at the last minute.

My Wife, RN spent many years in the fields of Elder care and Hospice Nursing. She often came home with tales of, what she calls, "Seeing Out" a patient. There has to be a letting go, she says, often accompanied by a smile. Culwch' story evokes the sense of that quite powerfully.

Howdy,
Congrats to Mosaix, and thanks for the vote, your win makes it extra special.

Thanks to, Stormcrow----Juliana-----Crystal Haven-----Victoria Silverwolf----The Dusty Zebra---Titanium Ti, for the listings, honorable mention and short listings.

I must admit that after posting my story the first thing I did every morning was to check in and look for the reviews. The fact is entire days would go by with nothing in the discussion section, it was agony. When people started to make lists I came back to life, I showered, sent out my robe and slippers to be burned and I ate breakfast for the first time in a week.

As you may have guessed, it has been a very long, record breaking winter here, and it refuses to go away, -17F this AM and snow all day, more snow Sat and below zero for at least 4 more days.

TDZ----I have been to that area, Bob Jr. took me.

Congratulations to Mosaix --- Great story.

Phyrebrat – a tie for second; outstanding! Thank you so much.

Hex – Thanks for putting me in the culled longer list.

I await the news about which esoteric genre we are going to be digging into this time. Maybe Ray Guns and Space Opera? He says hopefully.

Well done, Mosaix.

Thanks to Remedy and Beasty for the kind mentions.

Congratulations, Mosaix.

Thank you for the listings, Teresa and Remedy.

PS: Great news -it's raining. No need for a rain dance.

Congratulations (when you come back online), mosaix! I loved your story.

(Parson -- I didn't list the stories I'd culled. You were on my short list).

Way to go Mosaix! Where d'you go Mosaix?

Thanks Phyrebrat for joint second and Starbeast for the finalists. Like Parson, I think a record amount of mentions/seconds/finalists/ for me this month, thanks to everyone!

:DWell done Mosaix. I finally backed a winner and from the first too. Double yay.

Now somebody needs to wake Mosaix up, I want my march challenge. The suns up, I'm up (only just, I've a bit of a wooly head), I don't care how early it is. :D

Congrats to mosaix and well done to Cul for running it close.

I've been away a while so I have a lot to catch up on! (I apologise for my delay)

Congratulations to Mosaix! Your story was very clever, and definitely made my shortlist.
Also honourable mentions to Victoria, Alchemist (who made me laugh for a very long time), Bowler1, SleepyDormouse, Boneman and Hex for making my shortlist too. I loved all your stories and Hex very nearly got
my vote.
However, my vote went to 'The Four Dances of an Apocalypse' By Alex, the G and T, I felt it was beautifully written and I have always been a sucker for an apocalypse.

Thank you to Tywin for making your shortlist, Crystal Haven for the longlist and Hex for the stupidly long shortlist. Also thanks to Harebrain and Ursa Major for the honourable mentions and a big thank you to Spurring Patty for the vote - it's far more than I could have asked for.

Also, as a very delayed reply:

kill off/disappear all the teens (no harm, the spotty freaks).

I suspect I'm labouring under some stereotyping here... but still!

We're not all spotty freaks, I swear. I'd also appreciate not being culled, but I suppose it does make a good story.. The things us writers must sacrifice eh?

CONGRATULATIONS MOSAIX!!!!!

Thank youThe Spurring Platty, Hex, Starbeast and Alex, The G and T for your mentions and kind words. This was my Personal Best month with 13 mentions and a vote - absolutely chuffed with that :D (I may take the humorous road more often.)
