Vote to Chrispy for a piece which really sparked my imagination, visual and otherwise; Alex the G&T came a close second. Honourable mentions to Khayos, Stormcrow and The Judge.

Honourable mentions to:
Remedy - The Horny Satyr
Brev - The Sleep Stalker (D-A-N-C-E Well done!)
mosaix - The Old ones Are the Best
jastius - Icarus and Apollo, A Flight Unfledged
Phyrebrat - Danse Macabre
crystal haven - Stepping Out
Culhwch - One Last Dance

My vote went to Khayos - Twelve Hour Shifts

(And thank you Teresa Edgerton for the vote)

I don't have a long list this month. I don't even have a shortlist.

These all tied equal for second place:

Springs
Alchemist
Abernovo
Chrispenycate
Martin321
johnnyjet
Patson
Glisterspeck
George Ian
crystal haven
stormcrow
Boneman
The Judge
Ursa Major

But once again Hex gains my vote - for the second month in a row - for another beautifully ugly tale.

Thankyous:-
To Victoria Silverwolf for her wonderfully kind review.
Thank you to Teresa, johnnyjet, crystal haven and TSP for the shortlisting. It is appreciated!

[FONT=&quot]Thank you so much, Stormcrow for the vote. And thank you for the short listings, Brev and Remedy, and Spurring Platty for the honourable mention. And thank you Phyrebrat, for the joint second place.I'm really happy this month. :)

Thank you very, very much for the votes, Phyre, RoninJedi and Perp :) And thank you for the mentions!

I had a stupidly long shortlist so I culled it and then culled it again and was left with (*=shorter list):

Mosaix -- This made me laugh. Lovely.

*Martin123 -- Had me totally fooled. Neat and clever and so very sinister. *shudder*

*Alex, the G and T -- I love this more each time I read it.

Stormcrow -- Brilliant. Horrifying.

Chrispy -- This was amazing. What an opening!

Remedy -- Hee. Loved this right off.

Parson -- Chilling!

Tywin -- I loved the language of this, and the images.

Glen -- Funny and neat. Made me shiver.

Victoria -- Beautiful, dense and clever.

*alchemist -- I didn't understand it first time round, but when I looked it up and understood I saw how clever it was, and very funny too (judging by the videos I've seen)

*Bowler1 -- Ah, this was brilliant. Clever and horrible. Fabulous.

HareBrain -- The perfection of the story and the language ('Danced with him to a girl's mad piping...') is painfully awe-inspiring.

AMB -- Very neat and clever.

TJ -- Perfect, singing language.

*TDZ -- Clear and neat and funny. Brilliant.

Ursa -- I loved this. The ending made me sigh, even though I knew...

Khayos -- Fabulous writing. "(...biting in lust..." -- how brilliant is that?)

And it took me ages to decide between my shorter list. I kept changing my mind about who I was going to vote for (as soon as martin posted I was certain I was going to vote for him, but then Alex posted and I got confused and then...).

It just happened that today was the last day I could vote and I hated the idea of not voting (however much that would have represented my real confusions) so I'm afraid I really did toss a coin between today's two top of tops -- alc's marvellous story of beating the fae at their own game, and Alex's astounding four dances.

The four dances won by a head.

Thanks for the joint second place, Phyrebrat. Most happy with that. :)

Thanking you Hex and Starbeast.

I've just realised (I'm slow, as ever) that the winner will have to set a theme right off as its February! No pressure. None at all.

Thanks to Culhwch, Remedy, and telford for the votes, and also thanks to anyone who mentioned my story.

Well, another hour before the vote closes, 47 votes for 49 entries. Not bad. List saysAMB, BigJ, Bob Senior , Mith, The Spurring Platty, Ursa major and Wazkal haven't yet voted.

Interesting to note Teresa's spell corrector seems to have corrected 'Mith' to 'Smith' in the poll;).

Damn you, Fate! And you too, Coin! :p

Tell your list to check itself twice -- Bob voted for BigJ. :D

The poll is now closed and we have a winner.
Congratulations, mosaix!

Congratulations, mosaix!

(Who led almost from the beginning, and kept his lead, although Cul made it interesting near the end.)
