Lord, the bowel image was not one I needed, Bowler...:D

I didn't design this one, this is a Chrispy invention. But by god... the results when shooting this RAY GUN are fun - well, for me anyway. :)

Remember to vote everyone, or you might meet me.

Juliana, mega thanks for the vote! It was so great to hear that you loved it from the beginning. And a "Kipling-esque" tale?! Wow.

--- Wonders if Juliana was around when we were all required to write in the style of Kipling? There was some moaning then!!! ---

Thank you TSP and Starbeast for the mentions. Its been a busy Friday morning so these have perked my day up.

This is my hit list - now, which RAY GUN shall I use. I know... I'll use my sonic RAY GUN. It can do terrible things to bowels. Oh yeah, this is the gun for the job. ;)

Is this along the lines of the long sought after 'brown note'? Fabled by musicians everywhere? Chrispy?

All decisions are visceral, unscientific and uncritical.

It seems that most of the stories on my list are ones which gave me a chuckle:
Hex,
Starbeast
Martin ( I love to see a bureaucrat get his just desserts (so to speak))
DEO
Mosaix ( Clumsy bugger)
Ursa 's groaner

On a more serious note, I really liked
Ratsy

As a father of Daughters, Karn's tale gave me chills, and really stuck with me; which got "worse" every time I read it. Thus the vote.

Thanks for the shortish-listing, TDZ, and the groaning, Alex the G&T. :)

EEK - where did the time go?

Oh I know - took early delivery of a new grand-daughter!

Will try and read all the entries this evening (with babe in arms) and cast my vote!

Photos grand-daughter? I know I'm anticipating a new grandniece, but that's not for quite a few months yet;)

Just catching up on the thread...

Thanks to -takes deep breath- Alc, johnnyjet, Remedy, crystal haven, Starbeast, Perp, TSP and TDZ for the kind mentions/listings -phew-

My vote went to HEX. Captured the voice. Told a tale. Made me smile.

Thanks for the shortlistings/mentions Hex, johnnyjet, Remedy, Boneman and Perp, and big thanks to Bowler for the vote.

No shortlist this month, but my vote went to Karn.

Only a few hours left, and a lot of voters still to vote. But now it looks like it might be a race to the finish with Karn making his move.

Marvelous month of stories! My vote went to Crystal Haven - each sentence carried the atmospheric story forward with powerful effect.

Thanks for the comments Victoria, Starbeast and Perpetual Man!

Many thanks to jonnyjet for the listing!

I voted for Alchemist's, as I somehow suspected I would. A shame he didn't have a few more words available, as I could do with a pithy definition of irony.

No real shortlist -- left it too late -- but out of many good entries, special mention must go to The Spurring Platty (again) for being probably too clever for his own good, and Starbeast for perfectly judged lunacy.

Thanks to Juliana and TSP for the listings. :)

My shortlist, after finally reading them all:
alchemist
Bowler1
martin321
AunDoorback
Starbeast
Bob Senior

All were brilliant in a month where no entry failed for me - the cream of the (amazingly good) crop. One story captured my vote over all others, though: that was Starbeast's trilogy in 75 words - superb.

Alex thanks for the mention. Even if my complaining urged it..hahha.

Cheers

Thank you very much, Stormcrow, Perpetual Man, Telford, and TheDustyZebra for the mentions and short listings. :)

And thank you so much for the Vote and the kind words, AJB! It’s very much appreciated. :)

Thanks for the shortlisting Platty! Glad you enjoyed it!

...and Springs - thanks; time spent on chrons is always good and I've not spent a lot of it here recently...
<shuffles off to plan more effective time-management strategy>

Evenin' all - busy on here right now, isn't it.

Virtual absinthe ice-cream sundaes all round whilst we wait for poll to close; with, maybe, water-melon and star-fruit smoothies for those who don't drink alcoholic drinks?

<there goes the planning..>
