DISCUSSION -- April 2014 75+5 Word Writing Challenge

Oooh, stealth vote. Thanks, Mr Orange.

Crumbs. Things are close. I'm starting to feel very bad about sleeping on things. :D

bit late, but you're welcome springs.. had to be stealth as have been stupidly busy over the last few weeks. but your story stuck with me since i read it so ti was an easy choice in the end.

and thanks for all those that shortlisted me.

Sorry folks, work and family have just kept me mega busy this month.
I missed the vote, but at least got a tight tie breaker vote cast for TheDustyZebra.

Grateful belated thanks to Springs, telford, farntfar, Ursa Major and jastius for short listing my 75 +5.

Still hoping to get my 300er done and posted by midnight. (After dinner and getting youngest daughter to/from accapella choir practice.) :)

Thanks for the shortlist Jastius! Much appreciated.

I really enjoyed both stories. DustyZ showed great wit, but my vote went to CC.

eep! A one point spread here and a two point spread in the photo challenge.
and only ten min left in each
*bites nails*

The tie-breaker poll is closed, and we have a draw.

Congratulations, both
Cat's Cradle and TheDustyZebra!

Congrats Dusty! I hope to never go through another race this close! :) Thanks to everyone for the support, it was a wonderful month! It seems like just a moment ago that Starbeast was winning in March, and now it's Dusty and I...and a new contest begins...any moment now, since it's May 1, yikes!! :) Fame is fleeting, *sigh*. Night all!! :)

Congratulations to CC! :D

That's my second tied tiebreaker poll! Fear the Zebra in a tie! :D

Thanks to everyone, and I hope it wasn't too stressful from the bleachers. I'm going to hang up my prediction-making gear, because I told CC at the start of the tiebreaker that he had a good 4-5 vote margin! :)

Congratulations to DZ and CC Both wonderful stories.

Congratulations to DZ and CC Both wonderful stories.

Nice of you to say so, Parson -- I thought it might be a bit risque for your taste. :D

About my story, incidentally -- I started with the idea of the mechanical knight being sent on the supposedly impossible quests, which led to "faint heart never won fair lady", where he was in fine shape because he had no faint heart. In the process of researching knightly rules, I made the astonishing (to me, anyway) discovery that the Three Laws appeared to have been taken from the Code of Chivalry. And there it grew. :)

Of course, as the best things do (for me, anyway), it turned to innuendo rather quickly. I wonder if I should be writing romance with Mouse? :D

Thank you again to everyone, for your kind wishes now, and for making April such an exceptional month for story-telling! There were stories I'll always remember when I look back on my history (in some future How-I-Met-Your-Mother type universe) in the Challenges. Thanks Dusty for being such a gracious companion in the vote-off.

Dusty, in another act of graciousness, has offered to allow me to pick the genre/theme for the May 75 worder...you never know, but this could be my one chance to do so, so thank you! :) I have sent my choices along to the moderators, and hopefully we will all know if they're acceptable very soon, so that the May contest may begin any moment now (I hope they will appeal to most everyone here, I'm a little nervous about this!)! Best of luck to all, and have a wonderful May, CC
