Discussion Thread -- 300 Word Challenge #13

Slow voting, but like me I suspect the long weekend has kept people busy. I've had to get stuck into a very over grown garden and I'm not built for spade work. It's left me lobster Irish today, all sunburn pink.

Thank you Boneman, Ratsy and of course Starbeast for mentions.

It took me a long time to narrow down my list. My original list was every story! Congratulations to everyone.

So ultimately this is what I came up with:

Long List, Short List and *** Favorites ***:

1. Whispers – Juliana
2. *** Frizzled Memories – springs ***
3. The Gift - Mr Orange
4. Memory Stick – ratsy
5. The Redemption Man - Victoria Silverwolf
6. USER NAME: Mylil.Pony666 (A Nefarious Conversation) - Cat's Cradle
7. Future Imperfect - David Evil Overlord
8. Tom - Perpetual Man
9. Royal Justice - Bowler1
10. A Scottish Night – StilLearning
11. Jackdaw Beasts – Fitzchiv
12. Final Struggles - The Spurring Platty
13. *** Even Angels Scream – jastius ***
14. My Father's Daughter - The Judge
15. *** Passing of the Torch – TheDustyZebra ***

And my shortlist:

As always everyone deserves a mention so take it that you have been given one. A special mention to the following, with a really close, but not quite to those in italics and the votes favour the bold.

Ratsy
Juliana
Starbeast
Cat's Cradle
Ursa
TDZ
Martin321
telford
Chris
Karn

Woohoo, thanks a lot Perp! Blown away to have 3 votes

Boneman -- The author uses the style of historical fantasy to show us how technology can seem magical.

chrispenycate -- This strikingly original piece accomplishes the difficult task of bringing an abstract concept to life.

The Spurring Platty -- A new myth is created in this emotionally powerful story.

jastius -- Within this hard-hitting, vivid tale is the important theme of the price of revenge.

The Judge -- With a poetic touch, the author offers the reader an allegory of war and peace.

BigJ -- This open-ended tale of the future creates a great deal of suspense.

TheDustyZebra -- A rare sense of joy at the endless possibilities of life is supplied by this imaginative story.

Ursa major -- With a strong sense of dramatic irony, we are shown how strength may be disguised as weakness.

TacticalLoco -- The spirit of a folk tale is perfectly captured in this elegant story.
