Discussion thread -- SEVENTY-FIVE WORD WRITING CHALLENGE May 2014

Got mine in! Hated to have to follow Starbeast's entry, however. It felt like following a bang with a whimper...

Hex -- A highly original interpretation of the theme is seen in this clever story with an unexpected twist.

Mr Orange -- An historic event is viewed through a glass darkly in this sly and witty tale.

Starbeast -- This drive-in sci-fi marathon offers the reader an extra large serving of belly laughs.

johnnyjet -- The author offers us a glimpse of ourselves in a shadowy mirror in this sobering and disturbing story.

I really dig the poem, chrispenycate! Great concept, perfect title, and a really clever piece! :)

It's nice seeing stories coming in! Good stuff, all! Only a few days to go! :)

Thank you for enjoying it. Most here are probably getting pretty bored with my attempts at versifying by now. It certainly took me long enough, and I'm not quite satisfied with a couple of lines, but one has to stop somewhere…

I'm in too, now.

Now to read all the other entries & catch up on this thread....

Thank You CC - Glad you liked it!

It was a good theme/genre combination to write on; loads of really strong entries already (still reading thru') - that sort of proves the point, I reckon!

Jumped in after a longer absence than I dare think about. Not entirely sure it has come across properly with the cutting and the fact that I have spending a lot of time writing poetry but fingers crossed!

I posted now because I'm going to be away for a couple of days. Maybe it's just as well...

Tsk, tsk.

You know an author's true feelings cannot be assumed to be expressed in the opinions of his characters.

Not without interrogation and polygraph evidence.

Hmmm, a polygraph. Isn't there one of those in the Staff Room? Just left of the thumb-screws and the branding irons?

OK, I have a story in. But, eeek! there are only 35 stories, and only a few days left.

(Maybe time to get out those thumb-screws ...)

Hah! Alc, great story...err, I mean, HOW DARE YOU!!! :) (But seriously really well written!)

Loved the story, Teresa! :) You know, it seems they don't use corn syrup here, it's sugar, and though that also has its issues, everything does taste better, I think!
