DISCUSSION -- June 2014 75 Word Writing Challenge

Victoria Silverwolf: I am so honored to be on your shortlist.

A. Fare Wells: Thanks for the honor of a short listing.

This isn't getting any easier to pick a winner. (Haven't I said that before?) I had one story selected then at the end of the innings some big hitters stepped onto the field, making the job even harder. Anyhoo ...

Honorables:
Bowler
Alc
Aun
Beasty (A gatling gun at the Okay corral? You have no shame, sir.)
Ursa
TJ

All great entries but, there can be only one. Perhaps because her story came from an era I lived through and because it was such a clever take on history my vote goes to Victoria. Nice.

I really enjoyed this month's challenge, well done Alc for the genre/theme choices! And well done everyone for a great selection of stories! :)

Tough choices, but here we go:

Shortlist:
Paranoid Marvin
Victoria Silverwolf
Teresa Edgerton (hope we hear the rest of the story later! :))
Bowler1
Perpetual Man
jastius
AMB

Finalists:
Juliana
Hex

Vote: Hex

I was really surprised that my two favorites this month were poems...but to me these both were wonderful. But by a hair, I chose Hex's poem. This has been the hardest month for me so far, to pick a winner...I went back and forth so many times. Juliana, your poem was amazing, too. I think the only deciding factor was that I am a little more interested in the time period of Hex's work. Now the hard work is done...I'll just sit back and see who wins this month!! Best of luck all!! :)

Considering the trouble I had with mine this month I was just prepared to sit back and right the month off, so a mention from Cat's Cradle has really made my day. Thank you so much!

:) You're welcome, Perp! I thought it was a good story...very well written. CC

Gosh, I'm glad my muse just goes on walks with me. (Though it sometimes also follows me into the shower....)

You need to have words TDZ, that shower behaviour is just too weird. ;)

Thank you CC and Telford for the mentions and more so as I've not even had a chance to read through all the little gems posted yet.

With that - I'll be back....

Short List:
Telford – Headline Grabber
Ratsy – Hell on Earth
Victoria Silverwolf – One Small Step
Cat’s Cradle – Up In Front
Bowler1 – Your Country Needs you
Remedy – Potter Terror
Starbeast – Day of Reckoning in Tombstone
David Evil Overlord – TM

My vote goes to Ursa major – You Can Run, But…
