DISCUSSION -- June 2014 75 Word Writing Challenge

Honourable mentions:
Farntfar – amusing
Victoria – nice idea
Alchemist – another nice idea
Tywin – loved the sneakiness

My vote:
Bowler1 – for reciprocal deception and poignancy.

I'd have voted earlier, but the oddest thing happened. A couple of days ago I was looking at a starfish, when some sneaky swine shot me from behind with a ray gun! Hit my voting hand and I had to let it heal up.

You made me laugh. For those that don't know I've shot JonH with my RAY GUN earlier this week when a thread sank into the detailed depths of starfish and how many arms they have or need. JonH asked the original starfish question. The fun we had.

I'm so glad your feeling better and thank you so much for the vote, it means a lot. Now.... As you've voted....

No I can't do it, it wouldn't be right to shoot you again. Or at least not without a running start. I'll count to ten. One. Two. Three. Four. Zzzaaaappppp. Five. Six. Zzzzaaaaappppp. Seven. Eight. Nine. Ten. Are you ok, you look pale?

I'm fine. The paleness is a mere visual effect of my personal anti-ray gun shield.

Hrumph. Your no fun. Bowler1 runs off after Jastius - woohoo.

This voting is close. I am hovering and watching, with intent some might say. I'm off down the shooting range to help me relax. Come on JonH, you might as well join in now I can no longer shoot you. You too Jastius. Jastius, where has she gone?

Thank you so much for the mentions and shortlists, Bowler, Parson, Juliana, The Storyteller, and Chrispenycate. I hope I haven’t missed anyone.

And thank you very much for the votes, Abernovo and Springs. I had a lovely surprise when I looked at the poll. :)

Long list:
Springs – Rats!
Victoria Silverwolf – One Small Step
Mosaix – Now You See It…
Alchemist – Barbarossa
Perpetual Man – More Cunning Than A Fox…

The Judge – Divorced … From Reality

Bowler1 – Your Country Needs You

And my vote goes to Juliana – The Ballad of Mary Read

Thanks Starbeast for the shortlisting and positive comments

My vote is for Bowler1, for an excellent entry.

You're very welcome, Paranoid Marvin!! I really liked your story! :)
And Glen! WOW! Thank you so much, I did not expect any votes, but I am so pleased you enjoyed my story! :)
This is probably the most exciting voting I have experienced, I am so excited to see tomorrow who wins!!! Best of luck to all the folks in contention! And I can't wait till the two new contests next month!!! CC

Thank you for the mentions telford, Mr Orange, The Storyteller, Martin 321, Chris p and Crytal, and big thanks to Parson for the kind words and vote.

No shortlist, but my vote went to alchemist for his Barbarossa.

Looks like my last post didn't post when the database started acting up. I gave up trying to read through the stories when every time I tried to leave the index page I got a database error. I'll go look at them now and cast my vote. But was Chrons misbehaving long enough that it is likely to be an issue with the voting for many people?

Thank you TDZ and Glen for the mentions.

It went down a couple of times, but only for a couple of minutes, so hopefully everyone will be accounted for.

Aye, it wasn't gone for long. Thanks very much TJ and HB for the votes, and others who mentioned mine!

Twenty minutes to go and it's neck and neck in the June 75-word handicap hurdles. Bowler1 and Juliana in the lead, pressed hard by Hex, and Victoria trying a run on the outside fence. Chrispenycate is fading and the rest of the field are nowhere.

I don't know whether any of the stories have taken drugs, but I know I have.

[Sorry, what did you say? Don't post when pissed; you'll only regret it in the morning. Pah! I will expose my excitement to the general community. They can't touch me for it.]
