Ratsy's 100 word challenge (by springs...)

Congratulations, Robert!

This was a lot of fun & we must do it again sometime. Of course, I was one of the stealth ones who submitted an entry without posting any comments.

It was cool to see my work attributed to other fine writers such as TDZ, Cat's Cradle, Mr Orange & DEO, and to also have Ratsy's fine story Promises attributed to me.

I wish I would have had the time to make my own guesses. Maybe next time. There were some surprises. I suspect that many of the writers made an effort to write something atypical.

Thanks for the votes, Ratsy, Alc and Robert.

Having tried so hard not to give anything away it's a relief to get this post off my chest. :)

You're welcome mosaix!

I guess I'd better thank the people who voted for me since i couldn't before.

Thanks Chris, Ashleyne, Victoria, and Phyre

The universe would have exploded if I won on a secret story challenge that I suggested.

Is it safe to come in here, yet? :p

Congratulations, Robert!

And it's appropriate that the story I got the most credit for was written by mosaix, as his are quite often the stories I vote for in the other challenges! :D

Congratulations Robert!
And thanks for the vote darkchrome!

My story wasn't quite what I wanted it to be, but having better ones attributed to me almost made up for it all ;)

Congratulations, Robert!
I did enjoy all the stories - you've obviously all had a good deal of practice squishing decent tales into tiny word counts!
I couldn't join in with guessing authors (and my noob status plus not posting on this thread did make it impossible to guess me, sorry) but hopefully I'll soon get to know you all a bit better :)

It was a good challenge, springs, and I liked the initial touch of anonymity (made me not quite so cowardly). I joined Chrons to help me start writing again and this exercise has certainly, if not quite laid the ghost, given it a bit of a zap with the proton pack. All that and I got a vote - thank you jastius!

"Tiny word counts" -- ha, you're so funny! This was quite a decadent challenge, given that we usually have to write these stories in 75 words. :D

In fact, I was busy verifying my word count of 75 when I realized I had 25 more whole words to add. In retrospect, I probably should have left them out, along with most of the others. :p

Yes...75 words... I haven't quite come to terms with that concept yet. I think my weekly shopping list is usually longer than that!

Ah, but how exciting can you make your shopping list?

And you can always read the seventy-five word submissions to find out how it's done, no? Then it's almost no effort to vote for what you consider the least bad entry.

Mayhap some small effort, methinks.

Well, I had a nice 75-word story for the 100 Challenge, and now I just wrote a nice 100-word story for the 75 Challenge. I blame ratsy. And springs.

mine first i think i used thirty seven of the words... :) it was quite fun using less. very hemmingwayish

you are more then welcome. your story made me giggle.. wedging fantasy and humour together with a giant dollop of real life, into a bitty little package, thats worth a vote anyday... welcome!

Depends which shop I'm going to. For the one that sells otter's noses and jaguar ear lobes, the list is always reasonably exciting ;) (sorry, shameless snack item plagiarism from MP).

I've read many of the 75 word submissions - unfortunately, seeing how it's done and getting the waffle-addled parts of my brain to conform are two entirely different tasks, but I will certainly have a go (maybe next month tho'!).

For those still groaning from my dreadful pun - it gets worse.

I got the idea from a Christmas cracker joke:

What Christmas related song does the following remind you of?

'Members of a chess convention standing around in a hotel entrance discussing their games?'

Answer:

All together now 'Chess nuts boasting in an open foyer'

I offer my sincere apologies now - before being asked.

so i missed this - the storywriting, voting and discussion, but it looked like a lot of fun, and congratulations robert. would definitely be interested if it all happens again
