Discussion Thread - 100 Word Anon Writing Challenge - Nov 2014

Okay, for those unable to see entry number 4 in the submissions thread, the entry is a photo of a page of a note pad containing the following hand-written text:

My pen-ultimate story

Somewhere there's a planet full of lovely ink pens with nibs that make writing neat and leave happy marks on pages.

( :) happy. See?)

I know because the tub of 50 I bought last week have vanished. All but the one I'm using.

That's serious. Without pens there'll be no stories. Without stories humanity will wither and die and it's all over for Earth.

I'll just have to find the pen-planet first.

Pass my telescope.

And a pen ....

Darn! ALL gone?

That's it then.

Finito.

The End.

Thanks for posting that.

"Stray Arrow" -- The author uses elements of high fantasy to spin a tragic tale of loss.

"Another Kind" -- Science fiction themes are mixed with poetic images to create a bittersweet love story.

"The Rose-Petal Dress" -- A touch of surrealism adds to this strange and evocative fantasy.

"My Pen-ultimate Story" -- The author's imagination is at play in this whimsical tale.

"Martha" -- This story might be read as an indictment of the wrongs of the part and a warning of things to come.

Cool stories so far! Great reviews too, Victoria! No idea who's written any of the stories though! :)

Really cool stories, so far. I might enter; that's if I haven't entered already, of course.

A big thx to you, Mosaix, for organizing this challenge :)

"Last Man Standing" -- An exciting science fiction adventure carries a powerful emotional impact in this strong story.

"It Was The Best Of Times, It Was The Worst of Times" -- Nostalgia for the recent past is conveyed through an unexpected narrator in this wistful tale.

So nice to see new stories coming in! And some really fine ones, too! I hope the momentum keeps building...still a few days left to enter!! :)

"Orbital Vector" -- The author elegantly depicts how disaster can come unexpectedly.

"Fay's End" -- This touching and introspective fantasy is full of gentle melancholy.

"The Death of Legends" -- Sardonic wit is found in abundance within this hardboiled myth.

"Auksalak" -- With great delicacy, this story conveys the sadness of small losses.

Okay it's the last day for entries to the 100 word anonymous challenge. For those that haven't entered, you've got until midnight tonight. :)

Okay. Very hard. My guesses:

1 - Ratsy
2 - Juliana
3 - Cat's Cradle (for use of italics)
4 - Not sure, maybe someone tricksy like Mouse or Hex
5 - might be Ashleyne
6 - Mosaix. But that's a jump - the title feels like one of his and it's very polished
7 - Jastius? Not at all sure
8 - Alchemist. I don't even know if he entered. But it strikes me as his style.
9 - I think this is Victoria Silverwolf. It reminds me of her style
10 - Kerry - I'm going with some style stuff which mightn't be right
11 - Karn?
12 - maybe Robert MacKay since I don't really know his style. This got my vote (with 2 and 8 close seconds)
13 - The Dusty Zebra. She's always a tricksy one to fine, though - too much creativity!
14 - I thought Ursa due to the tight time, but I'm also wondering about Phyrebrat.

Um. Oh dear. Not good, I fear....:D
