DISCUSSION -- December 2014 75 Word Writing Challenge

That was a tough call! I had both Victoria and TJ on my shortlist. In the end I went for TJ's as I felt it was a little truer to the genre... But they were both fantastic stories!

By the way, thanks to Jastius, Ratsy and TDZ for the mentions, and to TJ for the vote. :)

Firstly, many thanks to Kerry, Ratsy, Dusty and Ursa for the mentions. Always makes my day. Next, another tiebreaker? Hmmm, reread the finalists, again, had to go with TJ. Great month everyone.

Thanks for a couple more shortlistings. (TDZ and Jastius (Top 3? Wow!))

Also tons of thanks for all your best wishes and prayers. The bad news really concerns a close friend who's suffered a loss, but 'nuff said.

Anyway, I'm voting for Victoria again in the tie breaker. (which has made it a tie again, so I hope more people vote. :))

Thanks to Ratsy and TDZ for the shortlistings!:)

My vote goes to TJ, but it was a very close run thing. Well done to both!

Well I logged on to vote and found I was a day late and a dollar short!! But I do get to vote in the tie-breaker, don't I?

Thanks winterlight for the mention of the awe-ful pun - the original joke (joke..?) was a lot longer than 75 words, which made it a challenge in itself. And thanks Kerrybuchanan, for the listing.

Wow, that was a turnip for the book. I thought Victoria had me and Missy well and truly licked, but she's already showing us a clean pair of wolf heels in the tie break, I see, so Missy is busy trying on the taffeta for size (cinnamon-coloured, of course -- pink makes her legs look fat). Meanwhile, thanks to jastius for the mention, and mega-thanks to Chris P for the vote!

Sticking my head around the door for a slightly longer than cursory glance I have managed over the last few days. A very belated thanks to everyone who mentioned my story and to the esteemed DEO for giving me the delightful prize of a vote.

I stealth voted for Victoria, and that being the case I voted for her in the tie break.

My story was a bit of a mess because I was determined to get as many Christmas references in as possible, which was a detriment to the story but a lot more fun.

It started with the 'Looks like rain dear,' and went backwards and downhill from there. ;)

Mine started with the ongoing challenge of parenting a teen and trying to get any sort of meaningful tidying out of her, and went from there. :) I also knew there'd be a lot of detectives and what not and, since I enter the 75 for fun, I thought something a little lighter would bring a smile.

Congrats to both Victoria and TJ for your success in the first round of voting! Both were terrific stories! I voted though for Victoria, as I did in that first round. Good luck the rest of the way! Either story would be a worthy champion for phyrebrat's terrific theme!

And thank you HareBrain for the mental listing! A listing is a listing, no matter how visible! :)

AND, we have two new challenges beginning in just 3 days, and the SS stories to finish for mid January! Exciting times to be writing, here at the Chrons! :)

Thuds head quietly.

Oh but springs, isn't this an example of the head-thudding of wonder, and creation? Isn't it...just-a-little?? :)

(Just joking..I know you must be incredibly busy with your books!:))

My thanks to Sancho for the shortlisting.
Your very welcome Farntfar, sorry to hear about your bad news.

I shortlisted Victoria for crafting a reminder of the other side of the festive season and with such a powerful ending, she gets my vote.

Wow! You guys really are dedicated.
I was already silently agreeing with your first post... "Head thuds quietly" just with the next 2 challenges.
Hopefully things will quieten down once past the inspirational Eggnog ;-)
