Thankee to telford, Cat's Cradle and mosaix for the honourable mentions.

Another big thanks, this time to CC for the vote, a glimmer of light on a very busy day (although it started with a massive all day breakfast so I can't complain too much ;))

And thanks to Remedy for the honourable mention

This is my shortlist, and my votes.

Cat’s Cradle - Field Trip to the Home of Miss Bessie McFadden
Springs - Mr Vickers’s Alien Stone
Willwallace - Slabs
Farntfar - Despatch note.
Perpetual Man - The Sentinel of Years
Glen - a moment of madness
Remedy - Fencer

Rafellin - It Sings
The Judge - Pillar of the Community
Culhwch – An Ending

Oooh, lots of mentions, ty Remedy, Johnnyjet, Crystal. I'm having a hero to zero month. :D (which is bizarre because I liked this way more than my 75er and thought it was tons better. Methinks I'll be hitting the Improving thread in a couple of weeks. :))

Thanks to Telford, Remedy for the mention and to Johnny Jet for the short listing.
I loved reading these stories, it has made it really tough to short list but here goes.

Runner's Up:
Jastius
Rafellin
Ursa Major
Cat's Cradle
Will Wallace
Victoria Silverwolf
Little Star
Mr Orange
Phyrebrat

My votes go to:
Perpetual Man - The Sentinal of the years. You create a wonderfully positive feeling just watching the passing of the seasons. I could feel the contentment comeing off the page.
Farntfar - Despatch Note. I loved this, great word choice, nice pace and an ending that was spot on.
Storyteller - The Alien Gate. Great story that led me down a couple of blind alleys but nicely set up the twist at the end. Combining senility and body snatching was inspired ;-)
