Discussion - March 2015 100-Word Anon Writing Challenge (#5)

Well, I was in the kitchen making a nice lemon pie when..I received the scary little gem I've just posted in the story thread. Needless to say, the pie now will not taste quite as sweet, and I am somewhat worried as I look out to the lake behind the house...

Well, we're getting close to the end-of-submissions date, and yikes! no new stories in three days! So..I will give an added incentive to anyone who has been procrastinating over whether to join the challenge--I shall promise..to whomever sends in the next story..that I will go out into my front yard and sing out, loud and proud, Bohemian Rhapsody for a neighborhood that will surely assume I have gone completely mad (my Finnish neighbors are well traveled down the road to that assumption already!:)). No video will be provided of the event, but surely a challenge moderator can be trusted. Come on! Someone make me sing for a story!! :)

Scaramouche, Scaramouche, can you do the fandango?
I have vowed that a story by me will be in the final round-up, and the eighteenth is already a memorable day:- my last radiotherapy treatment!
Sings :- "I'm just a poor boy, from a poor family…"

So, a butterfly flaps its wings... It's a world of such seemingly obscure and marvelous interconnections. In August 2014 a series of posted conversations by the good folks here at the Chrons led to the creation of the 100 Word Anonymous Challenge--seven months later, some very nice people in rural Finland will look out from their homes onto a beautiful, sunny spring day and wonder why their crazy American neighbor is outside singing Bohemian Rhapsody*.

Which of course means, we've received another story! It's a fine one, too, with very nice atmosphere. Thank you!

* I will be singing this loudly as I do chores around the yard--I'm afraid if I just stand and belt the song, as though I were performing on an opera stage, the poor neighbors would be terrified at the oddness of it all! :)

:) 'Tis done...Queen rang out over lake and hills and forest. I sang louder than I thought I might...I was fairly belting that great, mad song by the end. It was fun.

And we still have over two days for stories to be entered! Come one, come all (though singing-for-words is, sadly, now off of the table!).

CC, you almost made the Mercury rise on that one..but that would have scared a lot of people. Freddy being his first name has a lot of links to the horror genre too. Fitting for this months theme CC...fitting indeed
