Welcome to the discussion thread for the May 100 Word Anonymous Challenge!

The Challenge is to write a story in 100 words or less. Please do NOT post them directly, but PM them to me instead to maintain anonymity. This thread is for discussion only.

See the Challenge thread for dates and times.

Somehow I have ended up running this, and after CC's brilliant job last time it's going to be hard to top the March Challenge. Well, I'm throwing down the gauntlet. Let's see how many entries we can get this month.

The Challenge is open now, but nothing will be posted until tomorrow, the official start date.

Have at it, people!

I love a theme with multiple definitions. Nice choice crystal and thanks Kerry.

Can't wait to see what everyone comes up with... Time to warm up the brain engine.

It's a great theme.

When I read the theme I immediately thought of reflection as in mirrors, and didn't think of it in an introspective/ psychological sense until I saw some of the entries. Now I need to decide which type of reflection to use, maybe both.

Wow, the stories so far are wonderful. Such a diverse representation of ideas. If I've already submitted, I'm quite talented...if I have not, then I could be sorely tested to match the level of the already-posted tales. CC

Or, Mathematics:- The conceptual operation of inverting a system or event with respect to a plane, each element being transferred perpendicularly through the plane to a point the same distance the other side of it. (In mathematics, a reflection (also spelled reflexion)[1] is a mapping from a Euclidean space to itself that is an isometry with a hyperplane as a set of fixed points; this set is called the axis (in dimension 2) or plane (in dimension 3) of reflection. The image of a figure by a reflection is its mirror image in the axis or plane of reflection.)

Or sort of social comment:- 'The choice of host for this challenge was a sad reflection on the health and vitality of the entire site'.

I, as yet, have no idea in which sense my offering will be taken - for, doubt me not, there will be something from me in the final round up; I haven't missed an anonymous challenge yet, so see no need to dissimulate, and anyway, people frequently take mine in a sense other than that I had intended. Which doesn't damage the operation one little bit.

Six stories already, and I haven't a clue as to who wrote what. People are so talented on this forum.

Great hosting, Kerry.
