Discussion - May 2015 100-Word Anon Writing Challenge (#6)

Wow, crystal, your theme/genre pairing is inspiring wonderful stories. And Kerry is doing a fine job hosting this group of vagabond writers. Looking forward to reading more stories, CC

:) Cool entry that last one, Kerry! I look at these as they come in and try to get a handle on who might have authored them...it's very hard (though I do have a thought or two!). I hope we'll get inundated with new stories soon!! CC

"Cold Justice" -- Irony is a dish best served lukewarm.

"Reflective Life" -- Hell is for other people.

"Brothers Obverse" -- The right hand of darkness.

"Encapsulated Diffractions" -- Glass walls do not a prism make.

"The View From Here" -- Found horizon.

"Here's Lookin' at You" -- For whom the spell tolls.

"Saviour" -- Apocalypse when?

"Depletion" -- Absence makes the heart grow weaker.

"Dialogue Without Voices" -- Never mind? Never mind.

"Eyes of Fate" -- There are none so blinded as those who will see.

"To Know Thyself" -- He has met the enemy, and he is him.

Thought I would take a stab at reviewing this month, for no reason in particular.

Cold Justice- Is this harking back to the Nuremburg trials? Some people are just too literal(myself included at times)
Reflective Life- Paranoia leads to the imprisonment of those who anger the protagonist. Or, is it all in his/her mind?
Brothers Obverse- Choosing which part of ones' self to give up is nearly impossible, but here the choice seems too easy to make.
Encapsulated diffraction- Trapped with the only escape possibly leading to somewhere worse. Denying your captors is hard to resist, though.
The View From Here- Are we talking Rapunzel here? Don't cut it, then they will stop coming!
Here's Lookin' At You- Poor Olsen, aspiring to be more than than he was meant to be. A moment of horror, then sweet endless sleep.
Saviour- Choosing the lesser of two evils can drive one crazy, enough to end it all.
Depletion- Trying to hang on in a world you no longer belong to, only leads to heartache for those left behind.
Dialogue Without Voices- A famous test for whether a machine is truly conscious, turned around on the tester!
Eyes of Fate- Sometimes you should not ask a question, if the answer may be too much for you to handle.
To Know Thyself- An act of but a moment, affecting one for the rest of your life. Inner demon wins again.

With reference to Cold Justice, the author is anxious to point out that he or she had in mind something entirely different to the Nuremburg trials. Guess again, willwallace?
Well, that is only my take, of course. The repeated line, I was following orders, was what reminded me of Nuremberg.
For my own stories I am always amazed at what others see in them when they get reviewed. Often I wish I had thought of the clever insights Victoria, Perp, Ashleyne and many others find in the entries.

I loved your reviews, willwallace. Like Juliana I now need to try and remember if my piece was in there or if I still need to write it. If I even write it at all!

:) It's amazing how we all seem to get a case of The Creeping Ages when it comes to remembering whether we've submitted yet!

And another BIG vote for your reviews being terrific, willwallace! I've always admired and appreciated the folks who take the time to make these challenges that much more special by reading, interpreting, and posting comments for the rest of us on the submitted stories. I honestly cannot imagine a challenge without reviews...and now we have two fine reviewers adding to the festivities! I will say that IF I was an author who had received one of your reviews, I would be very-very happy with your interpretation of my story. Same goes for Victoria's always wonderful comments! :)

Terrific new stories, too. And great job, Kerry. My shoes seem to fit you just fine. :)
