Well no one guessed mine...and congrats to a tie! The first one on the 100 word I would think!

Mosaic, you are getting too good at this!

I seem to have fooled everyone...Alliteration killed a Nation was my entry.

Great Galaxy!!! A three-way tie. Awesome.

What will happen? Who will win? Will there be another tie?

Thanks for the votes!!! ;)

Well, it has been the practice, in the 75 (I don't think we've had a tie in the 300, which would be more problematic given the actual cash prize), for the tied winners to collaborate on the next theme/genre. With two, they generally split on the picking, one for theme and one for genre, though it varies depending on who's involved. It was determined at the start that a second tiebreaker was pointless, for obvious reasons.

With three, they'll just have to get cozy, I think. :D

We have two JOINT WINNERS!!

So, well done to the authors of:
Judge, Jury & Executioner, and...
Just A Taste

To stave off the ongoing insanity of a third poll tiebreaker, I think judging by the posts above we can safely say the two winners can collaborate on next Challenge's theme and genre.

Congratulations to the two authors, who will be outed tomorrow, unless they want to cast off their shrouds concealment and reveal themselves, allowing everyone else to genuflect at their supremacy and glory.

And well done but hard cheese to Tim (Perp) on his hard-fought but ultimately pipped-at-the-post third placed effort - it really couldn't have been much closer (and it was my personal fave ;))

How exciting :)

Congratulations Mosaix.

If we are into confession time, I think we can say that You were the moral victor. Or perhaps that we should have had another three way tie.

'Just a Taste' was mine and I may have decided not to cast a vote in the tie breaker.

I was busy with work and missed all the excitement :(

Thanks [Person(s)] for the shortlisting(s) this has been a fun go-round. DG's commentary has kept things lively (not that we're not a lively bunch to begin with), so thanks for that too.

Congratulations to the winners!!!

Cascade, I was so sure yours was by Ashleyne. :D
Loved it, by the way (got my original vote). A really cool idea; I hope you turn it into something a little longer someday - it would make a great short story!

Thanks to all of those who liked, mentioned or voted for my story.

I don't consider myself a horrror writer but now two of my most succesful challenge stories have had a dark and disturbing (horrific) undertone so i may need to reconsider.

@Juliana The idea is actually from a dream i had many years ago. I have wondered whether it would work as a longer piece, but am scared it would just turn into a flat list of ever more gruesome killings.

Story Short list
"Mummy" - frightenly fantastic
"None So Blind" - the author should get the $100,000 prize.
"Alliteration killed a Nation" - disturbingly delightful.
"Reality Bites" - Alright!!! A Loch Ness Monster tale.
"Beast of Friends" - Godzilla and Gamera!!! I love it.
"Same Love" - tremendously intense drama. Great surprise ending.
"I'm sure it's not important but..." - this one made me laugh.
"Clap Your Hands" - marvelous and creepy.
"The Ballad of Parsimone" - outstanding poem
"Wrong Turn of Events Made Right" - nobody, expected this one.
"Nature creates DNA and loses conviction" - humans? AAAAHHHHHHH!!! (runs away)
"Fluid" - shocking and sweet, at the same time.
"Judge, Jury and Executioner" - I plea insanity for this one. I'm just crazy about it.
"Writ of Certiorari" - an inadvertant set-up, for disaster. Excellent.
"A Heavenly Pie" - who said, math isn't fun? This tale, equals awesomeness.

Damn, and here I was sure, certain beyond belief, that Wrong Turn was one of yours. Oh well, back to the drawing board. And thanks for the mention.

Congrats on the great contest this month everyone, and special congrats to the finalists :)

BTW, mine was A Heavenly Pie, one person guessed it if I remember right :)

Congratulations to our two winners and bad luck to Perp who was pipped at the post ;)

A really great month, some really great entries and despite one awkward writer changing their screen name halfway through in an attempt to further confuse the guessing

Congratulations to the winners and to everyone else for some terrific stories.
Many thanks to everyone who mentioned mine and especially to Cat's who voted for it.

Nobody guessed me until TDZ and then (quite reasonably) everyone had it.

Only one point to make about it. The DNA in the title was not actually that twirly chemical stuff but rather Douglas Noel Adams who was so proud to have appeared in Cambridge a year before the other.

Congratulations to our winners!

Nobody guessed mine, but there were some very flattering attributions. I wrote "Clap Your Hands". It's interesting that you can't write anything that references Peter Pan without it being in some way about growing up, but I was also thinking about writing, and my ambiguous feelings about it.

Congratulations to our co-winners--wonderful stories both! Well done Tim, too--I loved your poem (a poety month for you!:)).
And thank you Tim for the vote for my little ionic story. :)
Farntfar! Once again I voted for your anonymous challenge story! I really dug it! :)
And finally, a BIG thanks to DG for his excellent hosting efforts!! :)
