Discussion - June 2015 100 Word Anonymous Challenge #7

Apologies I thought I had posted my guess list but obviously not. Having checked I would have got a big fat zero again anyway.

Congrats to the joint winners.

I don't know if it's the done thing to run it in the month when one has also helped pick the genre and theme but if no-one else puts their hand up I will. If someone else wants to run it this month though, I'll take my turn on another occasion.

Go for it Cascade.

OK/ Happy to do it. Someone will need to give me a to do list though. I figure, we've already missed the start of the month so we will start on the 10th (which will give clear air to the 300 for voting (mostly)), and run until about the 27th or 28th, so we have a few days of writing time after the 75 writing closes.

To Do List:

1. Start two threads:

a) Discussion thread -- no stories to be posted here. Announce the start of the challenge, announce the theme, tell people to send you their entries via private message.
b) Story thread -- only stories to be posted here. Important: Only you are allowed to post in this thread. Post each story as you get it (assuming it does not violate the 100 word limit. If it does, send it back for revision.) Keep track of who sent you each story.

2) When the deadline is reached, start a voting thread and a guessing thread (or just have people guess who wrote what story in the discussion thread.) List the names of everybody who entered along with one decoy name (that of a Chrons member who has given you permission to use his or her name in this way.)

3) When the time limit for voting and guessing is finished, announce who wrote what and announce the winner.

I think that's about it.

I missed all this discussion but definitely go for it, Cascade! It's a lot of fun.

If you need any help or guidance give me a shout (or any other past host). There is also a 'how-to' pm which we tend to pass on to each other. My laptop is on the blink atm but maybe @DG Jones could forward it to you? If not, let me know and I'll send it as soon as I'm up and running again.

I think you should start it as soon as possible, Cascade, and end it so that the voting is over with before the start of the voting for the 75.

I'm happy to do that if people prefer but note that it would likely mean. Only about two weeks of writing time. , and then a few days of voting.

On the basis that the anon challenge is a little bit extra and the official challenges take precedent though, I will work to that time scale.
Unless I hear a chorus of views to the contrary within the next 9 hours I will
- open the challenge this evening (my time)
- have it open to stories until 12:00pm on 20th
- have voting close at 12:00pm on 23rd.

Do you mean 12pm, or midnight? I ask only because it might be confusing if people expect a closing at midnight and find out it was at noon. You know, people who turn things in at the last possible second, as if there were any of us ...err... "those" around. :D

I'll make it 11.59pm to match the closing of the others.
So voting will close for the anon as voting opens for the 75
