My favourites this month were
The letter of the Law
A walk in the park
Star struck

But my vote goes to A vacant chair in the hearth

After all of that spreadsheeting, Chrispy, you have one correct. And you didn't even get your own right...

How do I get the poll to close in three hours? HELP MODS!!!!

My shortlist:
Walk to the Park
We Think, Therefore We Am
If at First You Don’t Succeed….

My vote goes to A vacant chair in the hearth

Ooooh, we have a tie with 2.5 hours to go. Will the tie be broken? (I hope so because I am tied up in a workshop for work the next two days..haha)

The Poll is closed and we have a tie!!!!

'What?' you say, 'only two stories and not seven like last month' I know...a good ol' fashion show-down is happening now. So get over there and cast your vote for your favorite.

Thanks to Ashleyne for the great Challenge theme and genre this month. :)

Ah, these were both very good stories. I'll also elect to duplicate my earlier vote, and go with Walk to the Park. Good luck to both Anons! :)

Having got the preposition wrong in both names in my previous comment, I'm sticking with A Vacant Chair Beside the Hearth.

Woooo, we have a pretty close match here. I left the poll open until midnight tomorrow so lots of time for voting. Good luck to both stories!

Well the poll is closed and this was not the result I was hoping for. Very well done to @johnnyjet who came so close to winning.

Because you are all crazy and voted for ME, Ratsy the host, I am going to give the prize of the book I promised, to JJ because I already have it.

I can't believe that I won this thing while hosting it. I actually feel awful about it, but I do really appreciate all the support for my little story. The two finalists were very similar themes and I'm happy to have made it to the end with Johnnyjet who is an amazing writer.

If anyone wants to guess on others still, feel free. I'll post authors tomorrow.

I guess we will probably hold off next month because of the 300 and 75 happening bit we will need a volunteer for November! Thanks for having me

Well done, ratsy, congrats! It's a very good story! (Winning what was once known, I believe, as The Ratsy 100 must feel good! :))
And terrific effort too, johnnyjet--you were so close, with a fine story of your own. Nice job hosting, ratsy !! Fun challenge, everyone. Looking forward to the next one.
Finally, thanks so much, holland, for your vote...my story was I Love You -- the tale of a sad, dented robot, with an unrequited love for the beautiful Pink-6. :)
