Discussion thread -- January 2016 75-word Writing Challenge

You shouldn't have been - I was very close to voting for yours too.

Thanks, Shyrka. But as an 'old timer' in the 75 you get a feel for these things. Not many mentions / short lists in the first day or two is a good indication. Thanks again. :)

Great theme / genre by the way. I'm always impressed with the variety and quality of the entries. Some very talented people around here.

It was difficult with so many good stories, but Hex's ticked all the boxes in the brief for me. :)

An entertaining run of stories once again. A lot of fun and some great ideas.

You read these things and sometimes one just sticks in your head, not necessarily for it's genius and pure brilliance but because there is a throw away line or pun that just lodges in your mind and you can't shake it.

With that in mind, I voted for Mr. Orange.

Alright then, says Bowler1, hand on his low slung holster and chewing tobacco (yuk, but image is everything), time for voting.

Culhwch, Jo (well, there were ray guns in), Mosaix, JonnyJet, Tim James (very clever mate and well done) - mentions all.
It came down to three for me, VB, Parson (a Trump triumph) and the Bear (zombies always work I say).
VB got the vote, for not having a strand of hair out of place.

Loads of new members having a go, which I like to see. No doubt new years resolutions to start that first book and if this is the case, you've come to the right place. Good luck guys.

Remember to vote, or I'll shoot ya (I'll hate myself for it, really, I will!).

Thank you all for the mentions I've got so far, much appreciated.

Howdy,
I wanna thank, Ihe, Droflet, Starbeast, johnnyjet and DG Jones for the mentions/listings, shore made my day.

Way too many really good stories this month, just couldn't decide, so I nailed my fave-o-rites on the wall, got out my blindfold and my Bowie knife and let loose. Just nicked the corner but Mr Orange got it by a harr.

Less than twenty-four hours before voting ends and:- Ashleyne. B. Watts , Bowler1, Culhwch, HareBrain, Idealect, J5V, juelz4sure, Ken Zulu, Kerrybuchanan, Mad Alice, Mr Orange, ratsy, Serge Alexandr, StilLearning, The Judge, TheDustyZebra, Tim James, TitaniumTi, Tywin, Ursa major, Victoria Silverwolf and War.Earth haven't yet voted. Oh, yes, my short list was :- Bob Senior, Jo Zebedee, Ken Zulu, mosaix, StilLearning and The Judge , voting for Her Honour. And many thanks to:- Robert Mackay and Droflet for the mentions, and especially Glen for the vote.

This town ain't got much in the way o' prettyness, so we was right glad to have Idealect talk about somethin' downright beautyfull.

Huntin' is a way o' life out here, but StilLearning reminded us that ya gotta figure out who's huntin' and who's tryin' to git away.

If folks ever git around to havin' a pun-makin' contest 'round here, I reckon TheDustyZebra will be a powerful contender.

Ya never know who's gonna be the deadliest shootist in town, and HareBrain showed us it might be somebody ya'd never suspect.

I never had me much book-larnin', so some of the Frenchified talk The Judge spoke flew right over my scalp. It was right funny, tho'.

Some folks don't put no belief in hants, but Ursa major spun us a yarn that had us shakin' in our boots.

Somebody or 'tother said the female of the species was a sight more ornery than the male, and Mad Alice gave us a fine example o' that.

Well, I best hightail it outta here. Ain't got the time to talk much more 'bout all them fine yarns. Since this is a contest 'n' all, I'll just cast my vote for HazelRah on my way out. Adios!

Well, I got a story in this month, though it was a rushed, and shows it. Thanks anyway for the mentions Starbeast, Cat’s Cradle, Venusian Broon.

You're very welcome Glen.
