Super (Secret) 8

Bosh! I got a really good request in the draw, so thank you to my thematic benefactor, and to Ph for doing a good job with drawing lots.

I've already got 1000 words on the board, though I fear I may have bitten off more than I can chew. I'm aiming to have the thing done by November so I can crack on with other projects. At this rate I might even do it, but we shall see.
 
I may use NANO to get mine cranked out, although I'll aim for more like 10,000 words or so. Still don't have a clear idea of it yet. Pondering pondering.
 
Course I'm also moving halfway across the country at the beginning of December so ...lots of stuff to juggle. Still, I'll get a story done. :)
 
And my requested story has just gone through 3,700 - but there's lots of infodump that needs pruning and tying back. I'll get there (wherever there turns out to be) it's certain.
 
I've got a sentence... Still not sure where mines going.
Sulky MC won't talk to me.
 
I shall refrain from revealing my word count in case any clever wags use such clues in their guesses, but I'm roughly halfway through, and am enjoying it rather a lot. It's not something I would ever have written otherwise, which is just great. Should get quite a bit done on it today, as well, with any luck (already managed about 1300 words today and it's only 10am!).
 
I'm concerned that the theme I've been given suits my tastes far too well. I was hoping to avoid another 20k epic after the pain of getting the last one finished but there's no way this is coming in under 10k. :/

Dammit, stop saying nice things about my stuff - I might have to show it to real people* or something!

Seriously though, thank you. Sekret Seven was my first attempt at anything of length for decades and the fact that people actually read it and enjoyed it is a huge encouragement.



* Chronners don't count for... reasons.
