Discussion Thread -- September 2018 75-word Writing Challenge

@Starbeast .... 007: Live and Let Drive .... Beast has written a story with the kind of Blonde vs. Bad Guy contest that's sure to be in the next big 007 extravaganza.

Thank you, Parson for your review. My story came to me quickly, so I made sure I got it in ASAP.

Got mine finished.
145 words - Grrrr! I hate trimming

Edit: 92 words now but the story has died. Gonna leave it for a few days to see if i spot any signs of life :)

@nixie @The Judge Did we ever get a judgement on the date format crisis? It would be nice to know for future reference

For those who don't know what I'm talking about, and by way of a recap:
2018-08-31 - one word or three?
31/08/2018 - same question

Thanks
@M. Robert Gibson and everyone else dates and word count.
Using the following format will be one word

O3/09/2018, 03-09-2018, or the US variants

Written dates third September 2018 etc will be three also if you leave out the hyphen/ slashes: 03 09 2018 it's three.

I've finished a story, but it's very *blah*. I think I will go against my usual instinct (to post, anyway), and hold onto it a few days...then rewrite, and get it to a solid *ho hum*.

Or maybe another idea will come to me. :)

First, Interesting choice of theme and genre. I may have to go for the Man from UNCLE and a Monkey's Uncle. ---- Illya, Napoleon, Gabby, and others would be honored, I'm sure.

@Jo Zebedee .... COME UP AND SEE ME .... Jo, I can't help but see your main character as Mae West. It will probably be a bumpy night.

@Luiglin .... On His Majesty’s Secret Service .... Luiglin reminds us that when your name is Styf you have 2 strikes against you in the spy business.
I think it's entirely up to everyone how they view their sexy space pilot. I'm ecumenical about such matters. :D (And ty xx)

Ha-Ha!! Woooo!

I thought, "Is she nuts?" I even went back and checked, and there it was! LOL

Just checked again: I hadn't hit the "Post reply" button.:oops::oops:

So... it is I that is nuts!! :p

Anywho, it's posted now. And thank you, Nixie. :)

She is, too. Assuming the "she" was me. I can't speak for nixie.

@Calliopenjo .... MISSION ACCOMPLISHED .... Calli tells us a true 00 story. License to kill and all that.

@Cathbad .... First Impressions .... CBad gives us a story of the gunfight at the old Casino, but who's that?

@Ashleyne .... NICE TRY .... Ash gives us a story of desperate women and one cool but clueless cat.

@TheEndIsNigh .... The End .... The End tells us that the end is The End and it is not a Beginning.

That was my second shot at the story. The first time, I forgot about the genre. Even after I researched it and finding out I knew the genre all along. OK. Laugh here.

Anyway, I don't normally write SF but I thought I would give it a try.

@scarpelius ... with my little eye .... Scarpy tells us a tale of a S.F. counter intelligence ploy.

@Graymalkin .... Calibre .... Gray tells a tale of more that one twist on spying and assassination.

--------

Well, I've got to say that we've a nice assortment of stories. They vary in everything save length (I wonder why? :D). The bar has been high. I'm looking forward to more of the same? different? ---- Oh I'm so confused.

I'm in too. One of the many great things about these Challenges is that you write things you'd never have considered trying, outside of them. I've never written anything even remotely spy related, I think (or cyberpunk, etc)...but now I have! Hope the ideas are percolating, everyone, CC
