DISCUSSION THREAD, May 2019 75-Word Writing Challenge

Inside twenty-four hours to go now. We've already got a healthy number, but let's see how much better we can do.

If you've got 'em, post 'em! And if you don't, write 'em! What are you waiting for!?!

Me too, I had pretty much given up on hopes of entering this month... but I actually scrambled something together this evening after all! It’s a slightly odd choice, perhaps... but at least i wrote something :D

we do get a whole extra morning tho. always nice when I realise on the 23rd I haven't done squat.

I've voted, it maybe wasn't strictly a tall tale but it appealed to my inner child (and there was a giraffe!)...good little story Mr Orange

Animal Tall Tales

@Ashleyne - Mum won't kill him, though. The spider paramedics are already here, strapping him to a stretcher.

@Cat's Cradle - Destiny ended his days rassling grizzlies beside the Pacific, having tamed the continent, and liberated Eden from its occupiers.

@Victoria Silverwolf - “Took her a while to teach me to fly.”

@elvet - “Food is left in my bowl, and I’m fed treats for being cute.”

@Alex The G and T - Never gave credence to Sasquatch, until he pulled up a chair, one evening, out on the patio.
We poured him a glass of wine.

@chrispenycate - Fox, stalking military training field
....................................Twixt unexploded ordinance on tippy toes
....................................Seeks poacher's now discarded snare
....................................Explosive butchered pre-disjointed hare
...................................Not even yet polluted by crows

@Tywin - “Come on, Blue. Gonna go borrow us another game. Learn you to play some monopoly.”

@The Judge - Tremendous fur, stupendous purr,
..............................Thick whiskers twelve miles long,
..............................And gem-bright eyes of wondrous size,
..............................And teeth to dwarf King Kong.

@M. Robert Gibson - "I come to free you from facial hair tyranny. Behold! The Razor of Rebrab! Let the shaving begin!"

@MikeAnderson - Slaying Mantis flailed wildly, and was pummeled by the slowest 10 hit combo in recorded history.

@Parson - When the West needed saving; Pecos Parson brought grace.

@johnnyjet - VOTE Beautiful story bro. Touching.

@TheDustyZebra - Then she picked up a corner of Spring in her beak, and pulled it north with her as she flew.

A Huge WELL DONE to everyone, because there were three pages of awesome stories.

Plus a gigantic THANK YOU @Victoria Silverwolf & @Parson for the reviews..

Well, now to finish the reviews....

@mosaix .... The One That Got Away... .... What happens when your pan peters out? You're left with a hook.

@johnnyjet .... The Legend of Farmer Brown's Dog .... What happens when your dog gets too smart? It's a case of dog whistling.

@Ivy Moser .... It's Our Tern .... What do you a tall tale which becomes too true? Prophecy

@Perpetual Man .... 40 Days and 40 Nights .... A long time ago when the earth was young there were more kinds of animals than you've ever seen, there were cats and rats and elephants but sure as you're born, the loveliest of all was the ??????????? (You'll need to read the story.)

@TheDustyZebra .... How Hummingbird Saved Spring .... What happens when spring is delayed? You get a story about a hummingbird.

@LittleStar .... Boiled Down .... What happens when you must lead your life in metaphor? You find out who really loves you.

@Ursa major .... How the Squirrels “Lost” Their Nuts .... What happens when Ursa writes a terrific title? Parson doesn't dare parse it.

@HazelRah .... The Cat in the Rye .... What do you do when someone knows all about you? You try for comic relief.

@Mr Orange .... My Nashery .... Please remember that what sounds like a tall tale might just be truth in another language.

(Brought me in mind of an old country song:
)

Aaaaaaahhhhh. At last. The problem with entering early is how bloody long it takes to get the glory. (hopefully)

And thanks to the regular reviewers who make sure that everyone gets some notice.

Thank you, Starbeast for the mention.

Oh, dear. I've been enjoying the tales as they've come up all month; but now I have to go back and read them all critically? and choose only one?
It's brutal, I tell you, just brutal.
