Discussion - October 75 Word Writing Challenge

Well, I've made my not entirely glorious return after a bit of a hiatus. Completely failing to hit the genre in my first attempt didn't help matters but my second attempt seems at least vaguely appropriate. It's good to be back.

@Mr Orange .... Stan .... Mr. Orange has told a tale that has made me rethink the name: "Stan the Man" because Stan isn't; in any sense of that word.

@Shyrka .... The Lightwalker's Lament .... Shyrka casts a mythical shadow on the benefits of light.

Welcome back Shyrka!

Parson: Better to sacrifice one candle than to feed the darkness.

Artoriarius: A friend in need is a pest indeed.

Starbeast: Just keep telling yourself, it's not only a movie.

Hugh: The books gotta balance.

MikeAnderson: Don't feed the hand that bites you.

Mr Orange: He who lives by the sword may profit by the plowshare.

Shyrka: Fools rush in where devils fear to tread.

@chrispenycate .... Arrivederci Euredice .... Chris gives us a cautionary myth that even monsters from mythology are not enough to drive one from addiction which is the very definition of raving mad.

I tried to come up with a submission, but I don't think a fable is actually a type of SFF.
Mythology and fable provide a lot of the source material for a good many fantasy works. I've probably gone more towards myth and folklore rather than fable for my poor effort, but it's something.

Don't worry, all. This will not be a regular thing, me inflicting upon you my drivel. I just couldn't resist the topic this time.

@Vince W .... An Eternal Friend .... Vince tells us a fable about the birth of the shadow and it leaves a very sweet taste.

@Abernovo .... Curaidh sgàil .... Abernovo shows us a real champion protecting her world in the shadows.

@Parson & @Victoria Silverwolf - Thank you both for the reviews. Keep'em flying.

@Shyrka - Welcome back to the realm of SFFC. How's Ulysses?

I haven't read the other tales here yet (sorry folks). I'm still dealing with that 300 Challenge. Methinks, eyes got me an i-d-er for 300 word-er.

@Culhwch .... Keep Your Truths In Your Shadow .... Culhwch reminds his readers that a good life is a life of balance, even of the light.

@Star-child .... Prisoners .... Star-child brings us to a world where some things are too good to be believed.

Thanks for entering your first 75 @Star-child. That was an interesting story.

@RJM Corbet .... Shadow .... RJM gives us pause as he points to a shadow PM who might just be asking for treasonous actions. (Life couldn't possibly imitate art?);)

I have absolutely nothing for 300.

I'll bet my nothing is less than your nothing. :speechless:
