Discussion - October 75 Word Writing Challenge

@TomUK .... Untitled .... Tom writes us a mystery. Where did the shadow go?
Welcome to the 75 Word Story Challenge. I hope it was an enjoyable experience. Wait until you try to vote and try to rate one story over another. It likely won't be too much fun.

@johnnyjet .... Chasing Shadows ....
Johnny has given a fable, a shadow, and a questionable shadow capture in this fun romp.

@Luiglin I bent my Wookie and you sank my battleship.

@nixie We can do this!

The three of us are in a boat, with a 25 foot shark swimming in circles around us............where am I going with this? Oh yeah.

Remember, it doesn't have to be an Award Winner, just make it interesting. And that goes for the rest of you who are reading this. I'm not including those who are "fine tuning" their tales at the moment.

@Shyrka Will I be seeing you in the 300 Challenge?

As for me, I'm going with Plan B, because I wasn't going anywhere with my original idea (which I won't mention now).

Thanks, yes it was. Voting starts tomorrow, right? I think that will be a learning experience, probably I’ll vote for the stories I have some kind of interesting emotional reaction to.

Yes, voting starts on the 23rd. Everybody has their own scheme of voting, but I think voting for the ones that give you an emotional reaction is a very fair way of voting. I tend to ask "Does it meet the theme? Is it in the right genre? and Did I like it a lot?" The first two eliminate some (usually few) stories and then it is all a matter of personal taste.

Heartfelt thanks to Parson and Victoria for the commentaries - I don't make it easy for you, do I? But myth dates back to oral tradition, and requires verse as a mnemonic aid (that's my argument, and I'm sticking to it:).)

Without Ashleyne, Cathbad, J. C. Scoberg, Perpetual Man, StillLearning, The Judge, TheDustyZebra, Tywin and Ursa major, we're a bit short of entries - but I'm sure a few of them will generate will generate stories in the remaining time - or else someone else will, if only to liberate their muses for the big muse bash.

@Kharn .... Origin of Shadow .... Kharn writes us a lovely fable about an eternal struggle and a workable compromise. (A lesson our politicians would do well to learn!)
Kharn, welcome to the 74 Word Challenge! An impressive debut. Thanks for entering!

Thanks for the commentary and the welcome. I found this place a few nights ago at work and well, I might be hooked....

Aww, bless. They think there might be a way outta here! :p

Been here 8 years. I found the exit once, went through, and found myself right back in the lobby. There are worse places to be. The company's good, at least. Welcome. :)

I think I may have just slid my story in under the deadline here! I actually lost track of the date. Not a good attitude towards deadlines.... :sneaky:

Still nearly a full day left, some people like bears and zebras sometimes leave seconds to spare :whistle:
