Discussion - October 75 Word Writing Challenge

@Margaret Note Spelling .... Shadow Play .... Margaret has given us a myth that explains a lot about human story telling.
*Great story! I didn't know where it was going and then "boom!" it all came together.

Thanks, @Parson! For the longest time I had no idea what I was going to write for this--and then for me, too, it all went "boom!" and came together. (At roughly 10:30 at night. I don't know why that sort of thing always seems to happen while I'm trying to go to sleep. It's almost annoying!)

I'm in, just. I'd had a couple of ideas, but a quick shufti of the entries to date showed that both had been used to better effect. It looked like I might miss the party, but then the Judicial Helpmeet came to the rescue with Brewers Dictionary of Phrase and Fable which I've shamelessly plundered.

@The Judge .... And, always, always have a lawyer draw up your contracts .... The Judge, as judges are wont to do, gives good advice about the ways of the world in fable.
*Parson sees something a bit self-serving in a barrister coming up with that title. :p

@TheDustyZebra .... Self-fulfillment .... TDZ gives us the real scoop on prophecy. "The more you think you understand it, the more likely you're wrong and it's going to bite you!.

@Ursa major .... Made in Your Image...? .... The Bear writes us a lovely myth about how darkness came to be critical.

OMG!

For the first time ever I've missed the challenge.....

(Will read through and vote though.)

Shortlist:

@Elckerlyc .... The Creation of Shadow for a myth that sounded positively ancient.
@Marvin .... The Myth Makers for a S.F. spin to this challenge.
@elvet .... How Time Measured Up for a wonderful little ditty that reminds me of the way I think myths evolved.
@Hugh .... Monkey for a Chinese twist to a fable.
@Abernovo .... Curaidh sgàil for a story that rang true of a mother's life and sacrifice.
@Kharn .... Origin of Shadow for a well spun myth.
@Margaret Note Spelling .... Shadow Play for a mythical, lyrical, and historical story.

Voted for Shadow Play by @Margaret Note Spelling it just captured me from the beginning.
