Discussion Thread November 2019 75 Word Writing Challenge.

First there are two people I would dearly like an explanation from when it is possible: @Victoria Silverwolf and @The Judge for their hidden meanings and words.

Short list:

By Any Other Name by @reiver33 because his story really caught the horrific consequences of having to be sooo careful what you say and do because lives are on the line.
Code Name: Peitho by @elvet because her story had the most memorable last line and it has haunted me since I read it.
The Gift by @Culhwch because it was a story about doing the right thing and sacrifice.
AGENT X by @RJM Corbet because his story sounded entirely prophetic.
Crossing Lines by @Abernovo because his story caught a very real story line, with a majestically chosen title.

Probably unfair of me, but I wasn't attracted to the less realistic spy stories. On the whole I love spy stories, but I have a difficult time with the tongue in cheek aspect in so many of them that others find endearing.

In the end I voted for By Any Other Name by @reiver33. It had the drama and pathos which I find so appealing in a real spy story.

Good evening Agent Parson.

1. Explanations of November 75 code, will be accessible 11-29-19. Unauthorized data withdraw will cause your electronic device to self destruct.

2. Realism in the stories, is precisely why I enjoyed yours, as well as others. For me, regarding making a choice vote, I gravitate toward the one that haunts me the most.

3. Agent Reiver33's entry made my micro list. It was tough to choose one out of the collection I contained. I almost self destructed.

Thank you so much for your listing, Parson!

Saying there were lots of good ones this month would be superfluous - there always are - but enough that I slit the list into: dannymcg, elvet, Margaret Note Spelling. mosaix and The Judge, for being special Hugh, LittleStar, RJM Corbet and Star-child for being differently special, and finally Victoria Silverwolf, who started in pole position and was never overtaken.

Well it took me a while, but in the end the references came together and I had no choice but to vote for UIF KVEHF (probably mis-spelt). Natal was the light bulb moment.

Others-a-plenty...
@Victoria Silverwolf (I didn't get the cipher, if there was one, but I always enjoy her prose)
@reiver33
@dannymcg (the title)
@Alex The G and T
@nixie (whose story I seem to have accidentally "liked" without even knowing when I committed that cardinal sin)
@mosaix
@M. Robert Gibson
@Margaret Note Spelling (for inventiveness)
@Starbeast (for knowing how to celebrate).
@Heijan Xavier
@Ursa major
@Perpetual Man

need I go on...? Too many by far....

I thank you @chrispenycate for your mention.
Difficulty choosing seems to be a common complaint this month, so I am in good company.
Long list:
@Tywin Love a strong woman in control.
@Heijan Xavier See above^^
@Perpetual Man Great action read under 75 words
Short list:
@mosaix captured that sense of a spy’s double life
@Victoria Silverwolf Enjoyed your interactive story
@The Judge Very cool twist on the theme.
@Alex The G and T Best chase scene in under 75 words

Vote goes to @reiver33. It was poignant and beautifully done.

Vote Difficulty (roughly) 92% for me. So many astonishing tales this month. An anthology of entertainment as always.

Top Secret: You. Yes you, who's reading this. You, are a writer.

Many thanks for the mentions, @Hugh and and @elvet! I'm always glad to be noticed at all among this auspicious company. I, too, am suffering a bit of despair over choosing a favorite of a spectacular lot.

I was thrilled to see that you entered the challenge. Excellent spy story you wrote. Any idea about a title yet?
