@Teresa Edgerton .... The Face in the Mirror .... T. E. shows us a horror from a ghost's perspective and it's not what you think.

@Ursa major .... On Reflection .... Ursa leads us on a deep discourse about the reflection we see of ourselves even when we don't see ourselves.

@Starbeast .... Detective Magazine #21 "One Dark Stormy Night" .... Beasty does pokes a little fun at a whole lot of media tropes.
Starbeast creates a kaleidoscopic combination of multiple genres.

Thank you Lady Victoria and Brother Parson for your wonderful reviews.

Choosing three votes is going to be tough. Lots of astonishing tales for this 300 challenge.

This is hard.
I've been through the stories twice now, and found things I like in them all..
I think I've gonna have to really look at the criteria and eliminate some that way

I voted for One Dark St. Agnes' Eve, Scenes from a Bucharest Museum, and A Reflection of the Monster; I also want to give an honorable mention to The Narcissus Trap and Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely. It was exceptionally hard to narrow it down. Every entry this month was well-done.

This is my first experience with a 300 word challenge, and I must say I'm loving the breathing space it affords. Reading through all the stories just now, there's so much extra life in the scene and the characters. It's like a 10 minute prog rock song versus a 3 minute pop radio edit. Shortlist below, with votes in bold.

@Astro Pen - An fascinating idea worthy of a book series!
@Guttersnipe - Just wicked!!
@Bren G - Magnifique!
@Cat's Cradle - Shades of the frozen moment timelord paintings from The Day of the Doctor!
@Victoria Silverwolf - A beautiful and delicately poignant piece, akin to a tone poem.
@Menolly - Charming and delightful.
@Jo Zebedee - Haunting!
@AMB - Equally haunting!!!
@Peter V - A twisted tale of sisterly love and revenge.
@dannymcg - Oh, that is so, so dark! Twlight Zone-style horror.
@Phyrebrat - A lyrical, ambient tale, bordering on hypnotic.
@mosaix - A quirky modern take of vampirism.
@Culhwch - Cool and punchy. For some reason, I hear a Tarrantino-style delivery.
@Simbelmynë - A vividly fantastic voyage into the unknown.
@Perpetual Man - Another wicked tale of accursed magic. I love the descending font at end!
@BigJ - Just beautiful!
@Mr Orange - Fascinating and exciting.
@chrispenycate - A truly original take on the brief.
@Starbeast - Another novel spin on the remit, and wildly hilarious to boot.
@Parson - A wonderfully dark tale.
@Teresa Edgerton - A classic ghost story.
@Ursa major - A slick tribute to capitalism.
