DISCUSSION THREAD - AUGUST 2021 75 Word Writing Challenge

Jumping Jaguars!

Tons of great stories. My list was too large, and I felt bad about leaving anyone out.

@Victoria Silverwolf & @Parson Thank you for your wonderful reviews.

@paranoid marvin & @Karn's Return Thank you both for the votes. You made my day. Also a huge THANK YOU to those who mentioned my story or commented on it.

Everyone, stay awesome!

In a rush tonight, so no time for a proper shortlist, but my vote goes to Peter V for his poignant tale of true heroics, with MRG's daft urbane tale coming a close second.

Bowing Scarlet thanks for the mentions/shortlistings MRG, Parson, johnnyjet, Phyrebrat, Wayne and Hugh. And many hooded Robyn thanks for the stealth vote Margaret!

Thank you to @M. Robert Gibson, @BT Jones and @elle telle for your votes. I had peaked early, in striking distance of @mosaix before they ran away with the prize. No harm in being distanced by such a great story.!

Thank you @Parson for the mention as well!

Am a bit late getting these out but here is my runners up and vote.

Runner's Up

@Cat's Cradle - In and Around Storage Locker C-2775 - A new take on an old 'system'
@mosaix - Through Other Eyes... heartwarming tale of innocence and loss.

Vote

@Wayne Mack - The Legend of The Oracle - Search no further for a legendary story

I'm also busy-busy tonight, so quickly:
A big thank you to our kind reviewers. Nice genre/theme picks, Luiglin - they inspired many terrific tales. And a huge thank you to everyone who voted, but didn't have the chance to enter a story. It's greatly appreciated by us all when people not entrants take the time to read the stories and vote (I didn't word that all well, but I hope what I mean comes through). And here are my lists:

Honorables:
Victoria Silverwolf, gracefully.falling, Elckerlyc, johnnyjet, M. Robert Gibson, The Judge

Shortlist:
mosaix, Peter V, Starbeast

Finalists:
Chris 1978, TheEndIsNigh

It was such a tough choice for me, between Chris 1978's hollow-chested lord and TEIN's story with its terrific and unexpected last line. I went for the twist ending, which still makes me smile - TEIN's Home the Hero.

I'm very grateful to elle telle, Phyrebrat, Wayne Mack, farntfar and Bren G for the listings.

And thanks so much to johnnyjet and sule for the votes. :) Truly appreciated.

Finally, terrific story, mosaix - that's some lead you've got there! See you all in the September Challenge, CC

Loads of quality and variety, making voting once again a tough enterprise and rapidly becoming a legendary undertaking.

Anyway, shortlisted and vote:

@Chris 1978 - The Coward Lord
@Bren G - A Legend... in Time
@Wayne Mack - The Legend of the Oracle
@Perpetual Man - Falgrim the Fabler
@Hugh - The Crow's Daughter
