DISCUSSION THREAD - AUGUST 2021 75 Word Writing Challenge

Congratulations @mosaix .... A very nice story indeed.

----------

As for my own story, it was begun with the offhand (hopefully) funny comment about my title being already picked out "Parson, A Legend in His Own Mind." ---- In the end that's pretty much my story. It is almost completely true. As a youngster 11? 12? I would stand by the barn on my dad's farm and I would throw rocks at the silo and pretend that I was the hope for a starship full of people who had to win the baseball game if we were to go home. I would also take a 2by2 and throw rocks up and hit them like a fungo. If I could hit them over the cattle yard fence. It was a homerun. Needless to say, my team was undefeated. --- I enjoyed telling the story a lot.

Congratulations, mosaix, on a strong victory! Looking forward to your choices for September.

Thanks kindly, Abernovo, for your vote and nice words on my story. :)

And finally, that's terrific background for your story, @Parson! I was trying to help Mickey Mantle win another World Series at around that age, and playing similar games. Amazing you were so in love with SF by 11-12. :)

Well I'm chuffed to bits.

Three actual votes and a bag full of shortlistings.

Whoa, wait a minute, another stealthy vote from @Astro Pen making it a total of four votes.

Thank you all for the votes and the short listings - You know who you are, even if most of you hide in the shadows.

Congratulations @mosaix.

A bit of a run-away up there in the heady blue waters of the near teens while we mere mortals flounder away in the mud at the bottom of the pond.
