DISCUSSION THREAD - AUGUST 2021 75 Word Writing Challenge

No need to apologise to me :) I don’t make the rules (I’ve not entered the 75 for a few years now - maybe once in awhile but nowadays I stick to the 300).

What’s good about voting when you don’t enter is the fact that a lot of new members post in the challenges but not so much elsewhere in the forum. Reading their entries and discussion thread entries gives you a sense of people.

I think mine is pretty clear; perhaps a weakness of mine and maybe what holds me back in general; I’ve never been one for flowery language-one of the main reasons my opinion of Shakespeare’s work is so low. But perhaps being direct and blunt about things is a little…flat?
I disagree. For me those qualities are not inherent weaknesses. I loved your story. I found it engaging, and the little world you created in few words was interesting and wondrous. Was very close to voting for it, but I guess today I just needed a laugh.

My short list
@Chris 1978
@mosaix
@Wayne Mack

Bronze Medal @Perpetual Man
Silver Medal @Karn's Return
Gold Medal @atsouthorn — Was already enjoying it, but then your last line killed me

Wait a minute, what's going on here then?

Have we changed the voting sytem?

Who's going to keep tally of the medal table if we change to this system?

Who's doing the drug testing because, lets face it, given some of the stories, some of the writers must be "ON" something.

Does a positive drug test result in disqualification or, admiration from the other entrants, in that they managed to get the story in?

Where, what, who is the video ref?

How does one appeal (obviously, in my case, handsome, dark and Adonis like - Poetic licence) against the line judges.

I tell you this is going to cause trouble with a capital T and no mistake.

I voted for @Daysman. In my opinion a perfect example of how to write a 75. Every word in just the right place and there are at least another dozen implied words in there that the reader’s mind just fills in as the story unfolds. Perfectly done.

Apologies. I appear to have ‘reviewed’ an entry before voting has finished. Remiss of me.

It’s lore of mine that has been nearly twenty years of work. Thank you for the kind words. :)

Don't think I have ever voted for a tale in verse before but this one really hooked me. Very well done, with a great flow and content.

Great job Chris 1978
