DISCUSSION THREAD -- FEBRUARY 2022 -- 75 Word Writing Challenge

@Christine Wheelwright .... Even a Broken Clock is Sometimes Right .... C.W. answers an age old question, "What is wrong more often than a broken clock?" (and the answer is not a weather man.)

@Victoria Silverwolf .... Deadeye .... V.S. brings us a better version of Annie Oakley and a deadly fake.

@Cat's Cradle .... Just Go, You’ll Meet Someone .... C.C. introduces us to a dream date, in other words a date you will have dreams about.

@Justin Swanton .... The One .... J.S. reminds us that even great leaders can lead to a point that all see her/him as an utter fake.

@Astro Pen .... Dream ending .... A.P. leaves me wondering if its really bad to let someone live with their illusions or if waking them up to the truth is actually an act of love.

@Marvin .... Hollow existence .... Marvin reminds us of one of the dangers of living out your dreams virtually.

I’m not sure whether it’s all a misunderstanding or not, maybe just that Peter V wanted some fake science fiction. If that’s the case, I’m sorry I stirred this up. But regardless, I’m out… I’m too old for this kind of sh*t and the forum has not been at all good for my mental health anyway. Better off just doing what I do best. that’s the way it is.

I’ve been reading “Northern Wrath” by Thilde Kold Holdt all day. I have a whole shipment of BAYLOR recs arriving later this month, and I’ll always remember Baylor and, Parson. Thank you Parson…and Starbeast. bye all…

@Cat’s Cradle I didn’t read these and afraid too. But I have a second dream date sorted with Weronika in Poland, the only girl in my dreams.

P.S. I am not faking anyone out. I’m just a guy.
Peace.

My apologies, @worldofmutes. I didn't mean to offend you in my earlier post. It was a perfect storm of misunderstanding on my part.
There's a kind of game in the 100 Word Challenge where people pretend they are entering the Challenge in a particular month, or pretend they are not entering. I hadn't noticed your post about possibly doing reviews, and I hadn't notice that you'd already entered a story in this Challenge. I thought you were riffing on this Challenge's theme 'Fake' to joke about whether or not you would enter a story (thus my use of 'faking'). Mine was a bad post - a lame joke, I'm sorry. In reading through your posts now, I'm not sure if you maybe thought I was attacking you personally somehow, about whether or not you would be doing reviews for the other stories this month, but that honestly wasn't what my post was about. So again, apologies.
Hope you're doing okay, and might return to the Challenges soon, CC

@AnRoinnUltra .... The fantastic honest lying Zod Boulderdash and his amazing friends .... ARU writes a story which makes me want to laugh and cry with it's sarcastic jab.

@Dragonsnark .... Oops... .... DS has a message from the Master's of the Universe which should remind us of all that we don't know.

@Aknot .... A Job Well Done .... AK writes a story the C.S. Lewis would have enjoyed. Screwtape anyone?

@Guttersnipe .... Dramatis Personae .... GS writes us a cautionary tale asking us to be careful when we eliminate characters in our stories.

Starbeast - An evocative, light hearted story about the mirth of calling someone a fraud

Luiglin - Some of us try to hide from our problems, even the dark lord.

Christine Wheelwright - Ticking away, the moments that make up a dull day. A great story about the fakeness of the fake.

Victoria Silverwolf - Elves with guns, an imaginative glimpse at surreal wanderings.

Cat’s Cradle - The idea of presenting your fakeness at cocktail parties.

Justin Swanton - Being the martyr is a fake ending, that when we die we all are forgotten, and our words lost forever.

Astro Pen - The fake interpretations of memories often lead to fake memories.

Marvin - A fake audience is better than no audience.

AnRoinnUltra - The Pope is for life, so who is the time traveling Pope and where did he come from?

Dragonsnark - Rebooting the universe requires a little fudge.

Aknot - That social media generally simplifies interaction to our thumbs and giggles.

Guttersnipe - Do characters without names process the world the same?

I suspect you meant to post this in the other thread.

Bren G: An intense portrait of obsession.

Jerry Peter DeMario: A vivid picture of a divided future.

Iwroteathing: An imaginative fantasy of bureaucracy.
LOL...yes you're right Victoria!

Bren G - Gambling on a horse is par for the course. A coal miner on Mars only needs his shovel and the winning horse.

Jerry Peter DeMario - A peculiar story, a little bit Huxley a little bit Crusoe, and no man is an island, that’s fo sho.

Iwroteathing - How many souls does it take to change a lightbulb? Just two, both on the floor.

@Jerry Peter DeMario .... A Fish Out of Water .... JPDM tells a tale which points out that being or doing something that seems fake might just be the most real thing ever.
@Iwroteathing .... Debt Relief .... IWAT gives us a whole new idea about the nuances of a fulsome debt collector.
@Bren G .... Faux Cheval .... BG helps us to see that a Faux Cheval is the perfect thing for all of us who think we are not Faux joueurs.
@G.T. .... Fakebot and Posibot walk into a forum ....
GT leads me to believe that there's a fake story somewhere.

Not been around for a week or so and am totally at a loss as to what is going on here. Its just a theme - fake as under any interpretation anyone sees fit. No ulterior motive, no hidden agendas, just a word to prompt a story idea. Looking at some of the entries, people have been having some fun with it. It is not my intention to sow discord.

Sorry @ Luiglin but I am totally lost. Not for the first time I might add.
Feb 2021 75 saw the Dark Lord bowing out singing "I did it my way" as his enemies burst into his throne room. Your Feb 2022 75 theme gave me the perfect opportunity to bring him back :)

I am glad to be of service :giggle:

Aye, I thought people were poking fun, then I thought it was some kind of initiation. But everything’s fine, I took a break and now more acclimated to the balance.

I was having trouble consoling myself to the fact that I can’t delete things. A loudmouth like me needs this option
