I find Poul Anderson a strange one; he has a lot of very pulpy novels alongside some much more serious hard SF ones. The latter being what interest me most. My favourites are Tau Zero, The Boat of a Million Years and The Enemy Stars. Bear in mind that these all would have been very serious hard SF when they were written if a little softer now after many years of advancing science.3 Roger Zelazny books.
WE ARE LEGION WE ARE BOB.
OT:Anyone have a Poul Anderson recommendation? I liked TAU ZERO.
The High Crusade shows Anderson in a lighter mode. Aliens invade Earth during medieval times, and the humans outwit them and even take their starship for their own use.

I found those a bit too pulpy for my taste really! But YMMV!The Dominic Flandry series.
