is it Jamie? Is he the little brother? Will he kill Cersei and under what could drive him to do that?

Forgive if this has already been discussed.

Could be either or neither. The valonquar means liitle brother doesn't it? It doesn't necessarily mean Cersei's brother, it could mean anyone's, there's a few to choose from, Jon, Bran, Stannis, Gendry or Edric Storm and others. I wonder if this prophecy related to Dany's vision of a beautiful woman being mauled by those little ratty men?

I thought the woman symbolized Westeros and the ratty little men were the kings fighting each other and "devouring/destroying" the land.

So, to beat this dead horse some more, who is the Valonquar?

Tyrion?
Jaime?
Sandor?
Jon?
Bran?
Stannis?
Dany?
Arya?
Any other guesses?

one question. how could it be arya? she's a girl just to point out the obvious and valonquar means "little brother" not "little sibling"

it could be volantis and ariane's little brother...forgive me i forget his name

Prince Quentyn. And that's as good a theory as any I've seen...

But I'm going with the obvious here. I think it's Tyrion. I've yet to see any good argument why it isn't: 'too obvious' isn't a good argument in my book. ;)

I'll agree with TK on this one. While Tyrion is the prime target of Cersei's suspicion, it has been pointed out several times that she came into the world before Jaime. Plus, I think it would be quite poetic if Jaime were the one to put her to an end. Obviously, GRRM is trying to keep us guessing here, so I'll only be suprised if it turns out to be someone other than Tyrion or Jaime. My money is on Jaime, though.

Except for the fact that Jaime is younger than Cersei, even by a few minutes.

Except that's not an argument against it being Tyrion... it's an argument for it being Jaime. Different thing. As I said, I would consider those only if there was any reason to think it was not Tyrion... and there isn't.

In any case, Jaime is (IMO) ruled out by the specific wording of the prophecy - 'the valonqar will wrap his hands around your pale white throat'. In order to get that to fit Jaime, you have to treat it as in some way symbolic - but even then, it doesn't really fit, tbh.

OK, we'll cut hairs on this one...I would agree the storyline so far but not evidence seems to suggest Tyrion but I would not put anything past GRRM. Plus, Jaime's a got a golden hand.

Good for you AryaUnderfoot for suggesting Tommen.

Something Littlefinger also said in AFFC about Cersei getting what she deserves stuck in head.

Surely not? Cersei + Jaime = Son/Daughter + Niece/Nephew

Darn it....okay I was wrong...somehow I thought....ohh nevermind....Im confused....needless to say I dont contemplate brother sister love often. Thank whatever divinity you worship for that....

Tommen is Joff's and Myrcella's younger brother. We have yet to learn of Myrcella's faith but something tells me she is liking very much living in Dorne and will oppose her brother and mother wheh Dany comes a conquering. Dragons can be very awe-inspiring for a 12-14? year old girl with a little bit of ambition now that she's out her family's shadow.

Apologies for bringing this up again, but I came across a reference in AFFC just the other day, where Jaime actually contemplates throttling Varys... and reflects that his golden hand would be no use for this. ;)

Also there is this theory in some cultures, that twins share a soul, because of this in those cultures one of the twins is killed, they say that if they did not do this the twins themsleves would battle for the soul throughout their lives eventually one coming on top of the other and beating the other from it. (Or something like that - hey its been a while since i learned this but it comes down to that more or less)

Because of this i am thinking it will be Jaime, especially since they have had such a close bond with each other, Jaime till now seemed more attached to Cersei (thus atm cesei according to theory was holding majority of the soul ---> holding power over Jaime), in the last books that is changing and it is now jaime who is bassically holding power over Cersei, she bassically needs jamie to come and rescue her.
