hey, unless they happen to drop right on your head, you usually have radar to tell you where the twisters are...and even if you look out your window and flashback to dorothy...make a dash for the basement...course round here if the tornado sirens go off...heck half of us go outside to see what's going on...and if i'm gonna get blasted by some wind i wanna see it dog gone it.(course i've lived in kansas my whole life, only seen a tornado once...and if i see another one i really wanna have my camera with me...)
quite frankly in a thunderstorm you're far more likely to get struck by lightning than get hit by a twister...
and the ones like they have in twister...you know the big almost sentient, i'm gonna last all night(they usually don't by the way) are like 1% of all tornadoes, most of them are little f-1's with 90 mph winds...a severe thunderstorm can do more damage...
but...i'll take a twister over an earthquake...a) they can usually predict them or at least the chance for them
b) you can go into the basement...where can you go in a quake? unless you're in the air you're sorta fubared.
