The Con
I'm easy to find. I run the registration table.
I live only 3 hours south of the con, in Tacoma, WA. so Canada isn't really a different country to me. The medieval research group I belong to [the SCA] - well, out 'Kingdom' is made up of Washington, Oregon, part of Idaho, BC, Alberta, Sask, The Yukon and the NWT so all Canada is for me is Northern An Tir and I'm up there for events every couple of months or so.

Talkin' about Canadians, eh! The biggest defining element we Canucks seem to have is "we are not Americans" & we are proud of it. Plus, we spell colour the right way not color like them to the South, eh. Americans are fine. I don't mind Americans. I'm just not an American.

And it's okay to proud of one's country, Skoon. I'm very proud to be American and won't hold it against you folks if you just *have* to keep that extra vowel around and insist on pronouncing it 'zed' rather than 'zee'.
Of course, maybe there's more of an 'Us'vrs 'Them' feeling back in the eastern part of the US and Canada. I noticed that when I was on a dig last year in Israel with a bunch of students from York there in Toronto - the other part of the dig was from Bar Ilan University in Tel Aviv. Cheeky, teritorial group they were.
Out here on the West coast, we're actually one country that includes Oregon, Washington, Idaho, BC and some parts north and east... we just haven't told our respective governments yet.
