Highlander TV Series: Villian

yeah that was totally a case of..hmm we have an evil duncan, but how can we make him good again?? Fight himself in an underground pond?? Sure, why not, and let Methos help so it can be a really old pond...

Well...ya gotta admit...it was pretty cliche-ish...

But the only other option I could think of (and quite an amusing one if you ask me) was to have some random Immie come along and kill Duncan, absorbing the DQ and becoming evil his/herself.

I mean, this DQ thing seems more like an evil that passes along through Immortals not something dissipated just like that.

That way, when the Ultimate Battle of the so-called Gathering does come....you've got this really really really DQ'ed immie and some random good-guy (Methos!).

Talk about the Ultimate Battle between good and evil.

yes - it was cliche ---

Evil Duncan - while he was the most interesting of the duncan's post-season3 - was stupid -

yes - it would have been cool for someone else to kill Duncan and become evil -- and continue to pass the DQ along -- but they weren't gonna do that -----

and -- why couldn't Duncan just kill a really good immie -- i mean Darius-like -- that's how Darius became good -- but guess they figured they'd already used that, so they'd try something else -

oh yes - b/c NO ONE else would know where to find a really old pond ---- there can't be any historians or archaeologists in Paris who might have intimate knowledge of the underground - only Methos can know that --

and did ya notice that the location of that underground pond looked a lot like the yard near Sean Burns' place??? hmmmmmm

geez - at least find a different piece of location setting --

*rofl*

isn't it odd that Evil Duncan is almost more likable than regular Duncan???

I think that's just because we all like the bad boys better than the good guys. *grins*

no -- that's not it --

It's not? Okay...hmm...

Because evil Dunkie had more of a backbone?

~ana

that might be it --

tho i would have used a different part of the anatomy - but since we're a family-oriented site --- we can be good --

alright...let's put a stop to this right now....whoever has thier mind in the gutter at least once a day please raise your hand......:) :wink2:

hmmm...good point...okay whoever doesn't have thier mind in the gutter at least once a day raise your hand *puts her hands behind her back and whistles innocently* :D

ditto ---

at least once -- what fun is life if you don't drop your mind into the gutter at least once a day! :naughty:

okay...back to the evil guys we all know and hate...well except maybe Kronos...

Speaking of which...did anybody else think that they killed him off way to easily?

well - Kronos DID live through 2 whole eps! which is more than can be said for most of the other baddies who didn't get locked in jail!

did ya notice that too? they seemed to lock a bunch of bad guys in jail - why?? ummmm - wouldn't that get kinda suspicious? this dude's been in jail for like 50 years and looks the same as he did when he was first thrown in ????

anyway -- yeah - since Kronos was supposed to be this badass who was like 3000 years old, give or take, Duncan took him out pretty easily --- Caspian too, for that matter --

Methos kinda whacked Silas w/o too much trouble, but Silas was something of a simpleton, so he may not have run around head-hunting during the last 1000 years (as i suspect Kronos probably did) --

hmmmm-- how old was Kalas supposed to be? just over 1000? and he was pretty bad - took Duncan a couple tries to whack him - and Kalas was pretty ticked when he got out of jail - tho why Amanda broke him out, i'm still trying to grasp that one -- so, Kronos - who hasn't been able to take over the world for the last 1000 or so years, he's a bit upset and wants to take over now, and Duncan wants to stop him??? i think Kronos would put up one heck of a fight ----

Yeah...I always wondered about that too. I always figured that they just eventually got killed on purpose or something*shrugs*

Yeah...400 years old and he whacks Kronos and Caspian with less trouble than he did some of the younger guys...Kalas for example. I mean I realize that he's the star and all, but get real. Caspian was locked in a looney bin for who knows how long to granted he might have been rusty. But Kronos was out and you just know that that boy is a headhunter. and he has had tons of time to practice. I just find it a bit hard to swallow.

I agree Duncan killed Kronos far too easily. It would seem they only killed him off so he could come back to haunt DUncan in later episodes

yes yes -- Duncan is the main character so he must prevail everywhere and win every fight -- blah blah blah --

i know - we kinda bash Duncan a bit here - but that's the fault of the PTB over at Highlander - DPP --- but - anyway --

Kronos - tough guy -- should not have fallen so easliy -- yeah, Duncan faced him 2x's -- but he didn't weaken Kronos enough the first time for the 2nd time to be easier --- were there some tricks Duncan learned to make Kronos easier to beat??

Kalas - who's actually one of my fave baddies - he's just kinda fun -- Duncan had some trouble w/ this guy -- he was pretty determined to blackmail and defeat Duncan -- and he'd taken quite a few heads in his time ---

okay - changing direction here -- is there an actual correlation (forget what they said in Endgame b/c that was irrelevant - bad plot device - anyway)-- btwn the number of heads taken by an immie and the 'size' of his/her power?? *OR* is it the 'quality' of the quickening???

ie: if Connor whacks some really old dude - The Kurgan - does he get a 'better'/stronger quickening than if he were to whack Richie??

or if Connor kills 100 immies and Duncan kills 100 immies they're at the same 'power' level b/c they have killed the same # of immies??

i know - what a great question----
