Mine croaked, also. I am attempting to tape on my son's which is attached to the Digital Cable..... so much better than regular old cable! If I could only figure out what all the darned buttons mean on his three remotes. (Lately I insert the tape and pray!)
 
thats the same as my parents! they go into my room, and they have no idea how to work the sat reciever or nothing, just the way i like it :)
 
Now you sound like my baby brat! He just sits and snickers as I make my attempts then walk up to the machine and punch the buttons I know!

Your poor parents! Of course Asgard won't keep the instructions on how to do it around!
 
no, im not that mean, if they want to watch something, ill turn it on for them. and try to explain it to them, but they don't understand :)
 
i gave up trying to explain it to my mom...i just tell her i'll tune in anything she wants....but fridays at nine it's MINE!!!!!!
 
Huh, talking of trouble with a VCR. Was trying to tape 'Secrets' on Sunday, but forgot to change to the correct channel. So, instead of getting 45 minutes (or whatever it is) of SG-1, I got 40 minutes of BBC News and 'Songs of Praise' (title's self-explantory?). Did tape last 5, though, and my Mum made a joke about it.
"Are you sure I can tape over 'Songs of Praise'? You don't want to see it again?"

huh its me who gets the honour of setting the video to record things for my parents when they go away for the weekend...
but they can't even remember to do something simple like set the vid on a fri night for Buffy :mad: and after I set a reminder on their computer as well :mad:
 
when i waqs taping divide and conquer ( i live in Australia)
on monday night, the sound didn't record properly, and now the episode isn't that watchable :mad:
 
ages ago when i was taping deadman i missed tha last 2m, and then next week i missed the first 2m of demons, and in both the scenes thay are walking through jungle so it looks like one ep!!!

how about when you recognize some of the stuff from marty's house...like the prop guys coulda borrowed some of your possessions(totally denying hte trek models and the 100+ action figures standing on shelves...along with posters, uncut card sheet and a collage made of all those extra trading cards everyone has)

My bedroom door has the Earth Point of Origin nailed to it. It's made out of wood and is painted this cool metallic silver. Made it a couple of months ago. It looks really cool. Also I got some the letters SG1 to match the PoO nailed below it.

Whenever my friends come over they're always asking: "What on Earth is that thing?"
I just smile and say nevermind.
 
My mates just say how I should have a bucket of water on one side of the door, and as I enter, i get wet (to kinda simulate the water wormhole thing)and then when i leave, this massive fan comes on and dries me off. I have such amusing conversations @ lunch, 'cos they all know I'm obsessed with Stag8. :D
I've even got 3 of my friends into it! ;)
 
Bring them in and let them get their feet wet at our TalkStargate site. They will really think you are nuts!
 
i really want to talk to a friend of mine that makes jewelry and see if he'll make me a earth PoO charm...just haven't gotten around to it yet
