Jack lines - spoilers for 4th season
I think my favorite is in "Prodigy" where he walks into Hammonds office to find Gen Ryan, Chief of Staff of the Air Force, standing there.
“Opening Dialog in Prodigyâ€
O’Neill: :Like to talk to you about this mission upon which we are about to embark. It seems a bit rediculous, deosn’t it?â€
Hammond: “Have you met General Ryan?â€
Gen Ryan: “Hello Colonel.â€
O’Neill: “ ‘The’ General Ryan? Chief of Staff?â€
Gen Ryan: “That’s right.â€
O’Neill: [to Hammond] “Shouldn’t there have been a memo or something?â€
Hammond: “You were off world.â€
O’Neill: “Ah ... yeah. So, ah, what brings you to our little secret base, Sir.â€
Gen Ryan: “That would be the rediculous mission you just mentioned.â€
Jack has the deceancy to look sheepish.
General Ryan look back like a father listening to his sone come up with some off the wall story.
O’Neill: “Of course.â€
Hammond: “I’m purposing M4C-862 become a perminant research station. I’d like you to make an assesment.â€
O’Neill: “ *The* General Ryan.?â€
Gen Ryan: “I’ve read a lot about you Colonel. From General Hammond’s reports.â€
O’Neill: “Yes... Sir?â€
Gen Ryan: “Thus far we like your work.â€
O’Neill: “Thank you , Sir. I like yours. Your Air Force. The Air Force. I love the Air Force.â€
Hammond: “Anything else, Colonel?â€
O’Neill: “No Sir. Actually I’d like to know how Daniel and Carter got out of this sss... very important mission.â€
Hammond: “Dr. Jackson is off world with SG-11. Major Cater is giving a lecture at the Air Force Academy in theoretical; astrophysics. If you’d care to take her place...?â€
O’Neill: “...No ...â€
Hammond: “Then you’re dismissed.â€
O’Neill: “Thank you, Sir. Sirs. Sh... Both of you.â€
O’Neill leaves the off post haste.
Gen Ryan: “Got your hands full with that one, eh, George?â€
Interesting points:
General Ryan is *the* General Michael E. Ryan, Current Air Force Chief of Staff. He was invited to the set and it was decided, if he was willing, he’d be written into the episode. Much fun was had by all.
In a later interview with RDA [n DVD #13, Region 2] Anderson started to ask the General if he’d ever really met airmen who were like ‘Jack O’Neill’ and before RDA could finish his sentance, the General replied “Oh yes... and worse!â€
